Tori Spelling thanks husband for the 'greatest gift in the world'

Torideanliam As she celebrates the launch of her second jewelry line with the Home Shopping Network, the survival of her bed & breakfast despite dangerously close proximity to the recent California wildfires and the second season of her reality-tv show Tori & Dean: Inn Love, actress Tori Spelling has much to be thankful for this holiday season.  But it should come as no surprise to CBB readers that when asked in a recent interview what is the best gift she’s ever received, son Liam Aaron, 7 1/2-months would be her reply.

My husband gave me our son!  Hands down the greatest gift in the world.

In fact, Liam is an integral part of Tori’s routine when she needs to wind-down from the stresses of everyday life.  Said Tori,

I hang out with my son and just watch new life through his curious eyes.  I could stare at him for hours — it calms me and really puts life into perspective.

Tori has been married to Dean McDermott since May 2006.

Tori Spelling talks about weight loss and Liam

Mcdermott_spelling_053107_02_cbbActress Tori Spelling has previously spoken about losing the weight following the birth of her son Liam Aaron seven months ago, but now she even weighs less than before she became pregnant.

I went on the NutriSystem program after I had the baby and it took the weight off. I’m actually a few pounds thinner now, [thinner] than I was before I had Liam.

While the decision to go on the NutriSystem program was relatively easy, Tori admits to never dieting before and was a little nervous.

I was terrified! I thought, ‘Oh my God! I can’t be so strict. I can’t be on flavorless food, tiny portions. What am I going to do? Am I going to starve to death?’ Then I went on NutriSystem it was convenient. It was easy.

Tori doesn’t push herself in the gym either.  She claims that her workout comes from her growing little boy with husband Dean McDermott, 40.

It’s not like I had to workout heavily for a workout every day, except my baby is really heavy now, so that is a little of an arm workout.

The actress also shared new information about Liam and his development.

He just got his first teeth so he has two teeth on the bottom. He is no longer the toothless grinning wonder — And he just learned to wave, which I am really proud of, so he like waves to everyone.

A 'momentous' week for Liam McDermott

Torideanliam In a new entry to her MySpace diary, actress Tori Spelling detailed a week of ‘firsts’ for her 7-month-old son Liam — and oh what a week he had!  According to his proud mom, Liam sprouted his first tooth, and then three days later, a second tooth made its arrival.

He didn’t even fuss that much. We felt in his mouth and there it was pokin’ its pearly edges right thru his gums…Its so exciting. I love when he smiles and we can see them shining back at us. Our little man is growin’ up!

Shortly thereafter, Liam waved bye-bye, began scooting backwards (a precursor to crawling for many babies) and held his bottle all by himself, all for the first time.  Sadly, there was one ‘first’ that Tori and husband Dean McDermott could have done without — Liam’s first cold.  Says Tori,

Poor little guy. He’s all stuffy and sneezy but still wanting to bounce and dance and entertain everyone he encounters…I know I sound like a babbling proud first time mom but…. well, I am a babbling proud first time mom and Liam’s biggest fan for life!!!!

Tori Spelling talks more about NutriSystem diet

Torispelling279_cbbAs Tori Spelling previously revealed, she has shed her pregnancy pounds and reached her goal weight through NutriSystem. The actress now tells OK! why the diet was so effective and why she plans on sticking with it for a while.
It didn’t feel like I was on a diet. It was convenient with the baby, and it tasted good. I want to enjoy my life right now, and I don’t want to feel like I can’t eat. It totally changed my body.
What was great about NutriSystem was its variety of food that allowed Tori, 34, and her husband Dean McDermott to pick and choose without having to repeat meals.
I’ve heard about people on diets and you get a a meal plan and you eat the same thing, but with NutriSystem, there’s so much to choose from that it took me forever to go through everything and repeat. My favorite is the meat loaf.
Tori says she plans to continue with NutriSystem to stabilize her metabolism.
I just had a baby, and I don’t know how my body has changed or what my metabolism is now. That doesn’t mean that I can’t go out to dinner or deviate a little bit, but I feel comfortable and I love the food so I want to stay on it.
She may not stay on it for long though — Tori hopes to make Liam, 6 months, a big brother soon as she wants her children close in age, but says for now, she is going to enjoy her body and Liam, who has "affected [her] whole outlook on life."
Having a baby puts everything to perspective; everything is so much more than you are. Seeing life through his eyes now, he’s so happy and everything is so simple it makes you stop stressing about the little things in life.

Tori Spelling reflects on first six months of motherhood

Torispelling279_cbbIt’s been six months since Liam Aaron McDermott‘s birth, but for ToriSpelling, it still feels like it was just yesterday. Theactress-turned-entrepreneur said on the Today Show Tuesday morning thatit’s definitely true what they say — everything happens so fast.

It’s great. It’s more amazingevery single day. It’s like getting to live life all over again throughnew eyes, like seeing everything he’s learning on a daily basis and thechanges he’s making. Everyone says it happens so fast — it reallyhappens so fast. It seems like I just gave birthyesterday.

Liam’s impending arrival famously served as a catalyst for healing therift between Tori and her mom Candy, and the 34-year-old is forevergrateful for it.

He is the best thing that could have happened to our family. When you have a baby, it just puts everything into perspective. You just realize any miscommunications, any ups and downs, you realize it’s aboutfamily. There’s that connection, there’s that bond that will always be there. So she’s great with him.

Also great with Liam is her husband, Dean McDermott, 40, who is always prepared to tend to their son.

Dean is so hands-on. It’s amazing. I got very lucky. Before I can get upto get a bottle, he jumps up he’s got a bottle in one hand, a diaper inthe other. He’s just really good.

Watch a video of the interview here.
