Marcia Cross talks babies on EXTRA

Imh448_cbbIn her first television interview since the birth of her fraternal twin girls Eden and Savannah, 2 months, Marcia Cross sits down to chat with Dayna Devon on EXTRA! tomorrow evening. Here are the highlights – tune into the show tomorrow for the full interview.

On being realistic: What I didn’t want to do was put out the myth that you can be in your 40s and just pop out kids.  I just don’t want to do that.  It’s really irresponsible. Have your babies younger if you can, which I would have done, but I just didn’t find my husband until later.

It’s just a difficult road. It’s terribly expensive, so it’s a drain on couples financially…it’s emotionally challenging…there’s nothing easy about it…it’s hard…the end result is the joy.  But, it’s definitely a hard road.

On how she told Tom she was pregnant: I put his cappuccino on a tray and put the little stick on it and…he thought it was the spoon…and that’s how I broke the story.

More kids?: [Desperate Housewives producer Marc Cherry] would kill me.  I promised him I wouldn’t have any more kids, but you never know if there’s an adoption in the future.

Marcia Cross out for "me" time

Just Jared has new photos of actress Marcia Cross out in Santa Monica on Sunday. It looks as if the  Desperate Housewives star decided to take some "me" time, catching up with her friends for some gal-bonding mani-pedis and coffee. After having her fun, Marcia ran some family errands, picking up groceries and flowers at Whole Foods Market.

Marcia and her stockbroker hubby, Tom Mahoney, have been busy with their 6-week-old baby girls, fraternal twins Eden and Savannah.

Did you take some "me" time shortly after giving birth? How important was it for you or your significant other to have some time out of the house after having children?

Marcia Cross out shopping

Marcia Cross and her husband Tom Mahoney were snapped out on a shopping spree in Los Angeles. The couple welcomed fraternal twin daughters Eden and Savannah on February 20th. The girls, who were six weeks premature and were in the NICU after birth, arrived home late last month.

X17 Online has the photos.

If you had a child in the NICU, how long were they in there for?

Graco products are Marcia Cross' choice for her twin girls

Marcia Cross recently ordered and was gifted with a variety of Graco products just before the birth of her twin daughters with husband, Tom Mahoney. The girls, Eden and Savannah, were born last month in LA.

Graco_infant_safe_seat_1At the pre-Golden Globes event Boom Boom Room Marcia requested the Graco Infant SafeSeat in central park ($199). Other celebrities that love the Graco car seats are Matt Damon and wife, Luciana, who have the Graco Snugride for the daughter Isabella, Adam Sandler and wife, Jackie, who use the Graco Snugride in metropolitan for Sadie, Kingston Rossdale has the Graco SafeSeat in mosaic and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has ridden in the same car seat as Marcia’s twins, but the heirloom pattern. Graco car seats range from about $80 to $250 and come highly recommended, with them now having SIP (side impact protection). In terms of the top of the range safe car seats, along with the Graco car seats are the ones by Peg Perego specifically the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant Car Seat ($220), which Danielle uses for Anya.

Graco_pack_n_playMarcia was also gifted with the Graco Pack ‘n Play Playard ($199). This item is so handy. It can be used as a double bassinet for twins and alternatively a portable play pen. It is lined with soft padding and has wheels for easy transportation around the house. It also comes with a handy carry bag so Marcia and Tom can pack it up and take it away with them, or to the set of Desperate Housewives.

Graco_strollerAdditionally, Marcia was also gifted with Graco’s Quattro Tour Duo Stroller in rittenhouse ($250). This stroller can hold a toddler up to 50 pounds, in the front seat, it has a lots of storage space and a snack and cup holder for the front passenger. Additionally, any of the SnugRide or SafeSeats can be attached to the stroller, facing either forwards or towards the driver. And the feature we think most moms (and dads) will love? Celebrity Twins for 2007

As if 2006 hasn’t already been the year of the Gemini, producing so many twin births that we can’t even keep up, it seems the trend will continue into the new year. Here’s a look at just some of the celebrities expecting twins in 2007:

Marcia Cross & Tom Mahoney, expecting fraternal twins
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has had a whirlwind year and the fun is only going to continue for this primetime actress. 44-year-old Marcia married her beau, stockbroker Tom Mahoney, after many years of wondering if she would ever get her fairytale of having her very own family. As if marrying the man she loved wasn’t enough, shortly after the couple’s June nuptials, Marcia found out that she was expecting and not just one baby, but fraternal twins. Marcia and Tom have recently admitted that theyknow the sex or sexes of their babies, who are due in April, but will keep that secret for now.

Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Fink, expecting twin boys
Shortly after sharing his desire for a sibling for his 4-year-old daughter Tallulah, Patrick Dempsey aka Dr. McDreamy, announced that his wife Jillian was in fact pregnant with their second child. However, the joke was on him, when the couple found out that they were expecting babies two… and three. The family are awaiting two baby boys (presumably fraternal twins) due in late January.

Mia Hamm & Normar Garciaparra, expecting twins
U.S. soccer star Mia Hamm and her hubby, baseball player Nomar Garciaparra, are expecting their first children together… twins. There hasn’t been much information released about this pregnancy, but we can only guess that one if not both of these babies are going to have some athletic ability.

Nicky Byrne & Georgina Byrne, expecting twins
Westlife’s Nicky Byrne and his wife Georgina, who herself is the daughter of the Irish Prime Minister, are expecting their own twins, the first children for both, next summer. Nicky says the couple don’t know the sex of their twins.

Norah O’Donnell & Geoff Tracey, expecting twins
MSNBC Chief Washington correspondent Norah O’Donnell, 32, and her husband, chef Geoff Tracey are expecting their first children late this spring, the couple has confirmed. Norah says, "Geoff and I are so thrilled."
