Suri Cruise enjoys a pre-race party

As her mom prepared — mentally at least — to run the New York City Marathon the next day, 18-month-old Suri Cruise had partying (toddler-style) on her mind last weekend. 

At a ‘Madeline’-themed tea party held at the Carlyle Hotel’s Bemelsman Bar on Saturday, Suri and ten of her closest friends munched on mini-burgers, chicken fingers, cookies, french fries and strawberries as proud parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise looked on. 

According to an unnamed source, the party was a hit.  Suri was seen "running around and dancing and playing with friends" as a pianist played children’s songs nearby.  OK! magazine portrays a similar scene, and provided additional details, including that Suri wore an "adorable" white dress, with a black turtleneck, black tights and silver shoes. 

Katie held Suri and fed her chocolate cake and ice cream…She danced a little, and Katie let her roam around the room. 

Although Tom spent much of the event in conversation with the other dads in attendance, he did let loose for a few sing-a-longs with the kids by the end of the party.  Added the source,

They were doing an ‘ABCs 123s’ song — it was really cute.

Tom Cruise says sleep is scarce, but he doesn't mind

Tomcruiseandfam In his first television interview in 19 months, actor Tom Cruise told Entertainment Tonight that wife Katie Homes’ Jan. 2008 return to the big screen in Mad Money and his own ever-busy film career have forced the couple to be on the same page when it comes to providing care for their 18-month-old daughter Suri, and for each other. 

Just like everybody else, you just work it out…you make it work.  We’ve gotten pretty good at organizing everything.  I don’t sleep much anyway.   

Tom’s interview airs tomorrow, Nov. 1.

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri on Rubicon film set

Actress Katie Holmes, 28, and Suri Cruise, 16 months, visit Tom Cruise, 45, on the set of his film Rubicon — formerly known as Valkyrie — in Berlin on Saturday. In the film, Tom is playing Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, an aristocratic Nazi officer who mounted a failed plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944 as Germany was losing World War II.

Originally posted August 5th: Actors Tom Cruise, 45, and Katie Holmes, 28, attempt to corral their daughter Suri, 15 months, who had been running ahead, as they visit a Berlin bakery over the weekend in Germany. Once inside, spitfire Suri grabbed chocolates out of Tom’s hands, making him laugh.

Run, Suri Cruise, Run

Suri_katie_15_wenn1451245_cbbAs seen in these photos, Suri Cruise, 15 months, has no trouble stayingon her own two feet. In fact, she’s so comfortable that she’s alreadyrunning, Tom says.

Walking? You mean running! I can’t keep up with her. She’s great fun.

Suri even likes to see other people run – she was overheard yelling, "Run, Mama, run!" to Katie Holmes during their afternoon date at Tiergarten Park in Berlin last week.

If she’s not running, Suri can be found enjoying her other favorite pastime.

Oh, she loves naps!
