Details emerge about Federline boys' birthday party

TMZ has an exclusive photo taken from within the dual birthday party recently held for 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James Federline.  According to the site, Kevin Federline hosted ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson and the boys’ siblings Kori, 5, and Kaleb, 3, at the fete, in addition to the boys’ maternal grandparents Lynne and Jamie Spears, as previously reported.  The Cars-themed barbecue was stopped in order for guests to view Britney Spears’ MTV Video Music Awards performance, but the television was "quickly turned off" once VMA host Sarah Silverman called the boys "beautiful mistakes" in her opening monologue.

Rumor: Britney Spears being investigated for child abuse; ex-manager attempting to avoid subpoena?

Britneyspearsjayden080407_35_cbb

TMZ is reporting that the Los Angeles County Department ofChildren and Family Services is conducting an active investigation of Britney Spears.  An unscheduled hearing was held today at Superior Court attended by lawyers for Britney, Kevin Federline, and the dependent minor children (aka Jayden James and Sean Preston Federline).

The complaints do not involve physical mistreatment. Rather, the allegations include poor dental hygiene and inappropriate eating and sleeping habits for the boys.

TMZ is assuming that Britney is being investigated for possible child abuse but I wonder if it’s possible that Children and Family Services is involved because of the custody battle.

Speaking of which, People reports that Britney’s ex-manager, Larry Rudolph, is avoiding attempts by Kevin’s lawyers to subpoena him. Ryan Seacrest remarked on his KIIS radio show earlier this morning that Larry ‘wants it publicly known‘ that he is avoiding being served.

Here is a guy who was with her from the beginning, watched her rise tomassive success, was her dear friend and confidante, then was fired andnow doesn’t want to have to speak in court, because he wants to beloyal to her. There’s another chapter to this.

He said he’s doing his best to hide from Kevin’s process server. He’s actually on the run. They are trying to track himdown and serve him with a subpoena and they want him to appear andtestify in the custody battle. [He] doesn’t want to be served because he said it won’t be good forBritney.

After all they have been through he is stillloyal to her, and he doesn’t want to have to go under oath and talkabout certain things that might hurt her.

Additionally, on Friday the SPCA attempted to make contact with Britney after receiving reports that her Yorkie puppy, London, was spotted in a cast or had a broken leg that was otherwise left untreated, but Britney was out of town. However, Britney was cleared earlier today after the SPCA received written confirmation from a vet that the dog was treated.

Do you have any insight?

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline reach divorce/custody settlement

Britney Spears and soon-to-be ex-husband, Kevin Federline reached a divorce settlement today, their lawyers confirmed. Michael Sands, a spokesperson for Kevin’s attorney said:

The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children.

The settlement was worked out in five-hour meeting in the Los Angeles office of Britney’s attorney, Laura Wasser. At the table were Britney and Kevin, along with Britney’s lawyer and Kevin’s counsel Kaplan and Jim Simon. During a smoking break downstairs, Kevin and Britney met up and chatted for about 15 minutes. The terms of the settlement were not revealed. A judge will still have to sign off on the agreement. For now, the children,  Sean Preston, 18 months and Jayden James, 6 months are residing with Kevin in Tarzana, California.

Britney has been visiting quite a bit since leaving rehab on March 20th.  Britney visited with the children as recently as yesterday, before heading off to the dentist for some teeth whitening while the children stayed at home with the nanny.

Britney might be out of rehab but that kids are staying with Kevin-at least for now

As we reported earlier, Britney Spears was released from rehab today but that doesn’t mean she gets her kids back anytime soon. Sean Preston Federline, 18 months, and Jayden James Federline, 6 months, are going to continue to stay  with their father, Kevin Federline. For the time being, Britney has custodial visitation and will be granted more custody over a period of time, as long as it’s proven she can maintain a stable lifestyle.

A source close to Britney and Kevin said:

They are not going to return custody to Britney as a reward for doing her stint in rehab. Kevin’s had the children for six weeks and he will continue to have full custody. Britney has to really demonstrate she can retain sobriety. She was just introduced into a sober lifestyle. Can she maintain it?

K-Fed takes the kids to Vegas

by CBB correspondent Tara:

While Britney Spears stayed in rehab, Kevin Federline took their children Sean Preston, 17 months, and Jayden James, 5 months, to Vegas this past weekend. Kevin had a scheduled paid appearance at The Mirage Hotel and Casino. Kevin arrived with not only the children but with a nanny, his mother, his brother and two bodyguards.

Kevin seems aware that all eyes are on him right now. A source says, Kevin was really low key. You could definitely tell he was on his best behavior. He was having a good time, but wasn’t the wild, crazy Kevin who used to come to Vegas.

Kevin also made sure to tuck the kids into bed, making him late for dinner. Sources close to Federline say that Britney’s recent behavior has matured Kevin. They said,

He wakes up with a purpose each morning and has enjoyed his family being around him.

Sean Preston and Jayden James visit Britney Spears in rehab

Britney Spears reunited on Saturday evening with her sons  Sean Preston Federline, 17 months, and Jayden James Federline, 5 months, at Promises, the rehab center she is being treated at.  This may be the first time she’s seen the boys for the first time since she checked in on Thursday.

According to X17online.com, SP and JJ were brought to Promises by a bodyguard and met by Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, but People magazine‘s sources are saying that it was their dad Kevin Federline who brought them.  After a two hour visit, the boys went back to Kevin’s house where they have been staying.

Kevin had also visited Britney on Friday. People’s source told them,

The kids are his No. 1 priority and they always have been. He’s so stressed out right now. He only wants the best for Britney and the kids.
