Rocker Joel Madden, 28, and reality star Nicole Richie, 25, were spotted leaving a restaurant after lunch in Los Angeles this afternoon. Nicole is in her sixth month of pregnancy and is due in early January.

Pregnant reality star Nicole Richie, 25, served her time in jail yesterday. Nicole, who is expecting her first child in January with rocker boyfriend, Joel Madden, 28, served just 82 minutes in jail before being released. A statement from the jail said that Richie was "cooperative during the process." They also said that in cases where the offenders are female, non-violent and sentenced to less than 30 days, they are booked and released within 12 hours due to overcrowding in the jails.

Appearing on Live with Regis & Kelly this morning with his band, Good Charlotte, Joel Madden, 28, let Regis in on his choice reading material in preparation for his child coming in January. His picks? The Expectant Father ($10), What to Expect When You’re Expecting ($8), and Baby Signs ($11).
Regis also addressed the persistent engagement and wedding rumors that follow Joel and Nicole Richie, 25 — not that Joel did anything to help matters. When asked by Regis, ‘You’re going to present her, maybe, with — did I hear the right thing, or should I not even talk about this? A little ring?‘ Joel laughed and answered,
Oh…well…I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now…
Regis quickly steered the conversation to Joel’s identical twin Benji Madden, but was met with more engagement talk, as Benji confirmed that he is set to marry Australian actress Sophie Monk.
