Jenna Elfman in Plum Magazine — photos and interview highlights

Img_0248_cbbActress Jenna Elfman, 35, expects her "low hanging" baby boy in July, but before he makes his arrival, she posed for Plum, the pregnancy magazine for women 35+. We previously posted bits from the interview and two photos — here’s all the highlights, including Jenna’s favorite baby gear!

Joint baby awakening: Bodhi and I just went, ‘What the hell are we waiting for?’ My mom was 36 when she had me. I thought I’d have kids before I turned 30. Then 30, 31, 32 came. It just went fast.

Pregnancy’s effect on her career: I always felt my body changing would create a huge barrier to my career. But I started looking around at the actresses I admire — Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts, Rachel Griffiths — and all the ones I admire have children. Actually, the most successful actresses all have children.

Getting pregnant: We started trying to get pregnant last October. I took a pregnancy test and set it down on top of a magazine. Before I could even read the headlines, [the test] was positive.

Bodhi and I went for a walk and made an agreement. I said I wouldn’t become a fat cow if Bodhi wouldn’t get man jowls. [laughs] He’s doing awesome actually. He’s thinner now than he was before. He’s running and swimming. I swim with him, just a little slower.

Jenna Elfman dishes on her favorites for baby (and mom!)

Jennaelfman Actress Jenna Elfman, expecting her first child — a boy — with husband Bodhi Elfman in July, recently shared with Gifts.com some of the items the couple have included on their baby registry.  Best-known for her part on the former television series Dharma & Greg — which featured a free-spirited Jenna in the role of Dharma, married to her cultural-opposite attorney husband Greg — the contrast between traditional and unconventional will also be present in Jenna’s nursery.

Jenna and Bodhi selected the Dwell Baby Dots and Stripes crib bedding set in pear and the Quilted Oeuf Baby Lounger in blue because of the seamless way the items will blend with their mod style.

It’s great to have baby decor that’s as modern as our adult furniture.

But the couple remained cognizant of the need for function as well as form, choosing some items because of the way they’ll feel against baby’s delicate skin.  Among those items are an ice blue and mocha pima cotton knit romper from Peru, and a hooded towel set which features a microfiber exterior and soft terry interior.  Said Jenna:

The fabric is so soft.  It’s perfect to wrap a baby in after a bath!

Jenna and Bodhi also registered for the ever-popular Bumbo baby sitter and the All Nighter Total Body Pregnancy Pillow, which will hopefully provide Jenna with some (increasingly rare) beauty sleep as she enters the final uncomfortable weeks of her pregnancy.

It’s so important to feel as beautiful as possible during such a major life transition.
