Rainn Wilson's son is in "poop denial"

Intouch4_cbbThe Office star Rainn Wilson and his wife Holiday Reinhorn are nearing a pivotal point in parenthood – the two plan on toilet training their son, Walter McKenzie, 2 1/2, soon. But there is a slight issue. Rainn tells Jay Leno on The Tonight Show of his son’s potty problem.

He’s in what I would call ‘poop denial.’ Well like you will see him in what is obviously some kind of pooping activity. Like he’ll be hiding in the corner, propping himself and he’ll have, like, a ‘poop face’ on. And you’ll go, ‘Walter, are you pooping?’ And he’ll be like, "No, no, not pooping!’ And it’s obvious that he is.

Walter does have a code word to alert not only his parents, but himself as well, of when he is pooping.

He always says ‘hi’ when he’s pooping, so he knows. So he’ll be here and he’ll have the face and he’ll go, ‘Hi, hi, hi!’ But he’ll deny it. It’s the weirdest thing. And he’ll want you to stay away. He’ll go, ‘No, stay!’ So I dunno how we’re gonna train him because [he's] like, ‘Leave me alone, leave me alone!’

Rainn says he realizes no progress can be made until Walter can accept when he’s defecating.

It’s like someone with a drug problem – you have to acknowledge there’s a problem before you can move forward. He’s gotta acknowledge he’s pooping before we can…so I dunno how that’s gonna go.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus says kids should always wear underwear

619_jlu_louisdreyfusJulia Louis-Dreyfus appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno andmentioned a much-talked-about skit she recently did on Saturday Night Live inwhich she mocked Britney Spears and Paris Hilton by stepping out of alimo without underwear on. Her sons, Henry, 14, and Charles, 9, withhusband, director Brad Hall, saw the parody and while Henry understood it, Juliastruggled to explain herself to Charles.

There are many, sort of, different levels for me to explain.First of all, what was I thinking? But anyway, you know, it was justall bad. I had to explain that, of course, that I really had underwearon. Mommy was really wearing underwear. You know, I mean it was justvery upsetting, the whole thing.

As for what she thinks of Britney and Paris’ antics from a parental perspective, the actress says,

Asa parent, where are those girls’ mothers? That’s what I want to know.Where are their mothers? Put on your panties! Right? Aren’t we supposedto be wearing underwear? Isn’t that sort of basic? Isn’t that whatNancy Pelosi [who was the next guest] will say to us? Wear yourunderwear!

The story behind Lucas Mencia's name

Carlos Carlos Mencia stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night and shared how he and his wife Amy chose their son’s name — Lucas Pablo, 3 months  — and what his dad cannot call the baby. The comedian says he and Amy were worried about what to name their son because she is white, leading Jay to say, "Well, that’s a big problem." Carlos responds,

Well it is cause my entire family is like Alberto, Joaquin, Roberto and you’re gonna be the only to give them -

"Ashley," Jay interjects.

Carlos says,

Exactly! Like I just wanted to name my son Cody just hear my dad go, ‘Cody?’ (in a thick Spanish accent)

He says they finally settled on Luke because it’s a "good biblical name." However, his father was slightly confused when he was told what his grandson’s name will be.

He goes (again in a thick Spanish accent), ‘Luke? Like you’re looking for something?’ And I’m like, ‘No, dude, LUKE, not LOOK.’ And he’s like, ‘Well, Luke is look. And I’m looking and then there is your son Luke.’ So we had to go with Lucas, but I call him Luke. But my dad still calls him Lucas cause I don’t let my dad call my son Luke cause then he goes, ‘Look at your son! Look at Luke!’

If your family is multiracial/cultural, did you have name issues as well?
