Jaime went on to explain that her new clothing line is new mommy friendly. She explained:

I was thinking of being a new mom who still wanted to be sexy but at the same time keep it under wraps.

Besides the introduction of her new fashion line, Jaime brought home the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series this year. She said:

This was a big year for me. I’m so excited. it was just huge. I’m just really excited for people to see how far the line has come and how amazing it is now. It really isn’t what anybody is expecting.

She lost the first 10 through aseven-day detox diet that included three days of only cabbage soup andvegetables and a potato and grilled chicken meal by day six. These days,Jaime eats four-to-six daily mini-meals.

Now I’m on a strict protein diet.

Jaime also hit thegym 10 days after her May 11 delivery to do three-hour sweat sessionsof cardio and core workouts five days per week. Not long after, she dropped four inches from her waist.

I needed to get back to my shape. I had a closet full of jeans that I couldn’t wear!

Theactress also notes the pressures of Hollywood that pushed her to gether get her body back. This means there are no plans to make Dezi a bigbrother just yet.

People are asking about the next baby. Can I get back I shape first? I don’t want to lose my job! I worked hard to lose this weight for the show and for myself.

As a new mom, I’m supposed to go on about how wonderful it was to be pregnant. Well, I don’t buy into that. The truth is that I love my baby to bits, but the rest of it sucked. Pregnancy was the biggest killer for me. I hated it — I hated being fat.

My hormones were all over the place and I acted like some lunatic, picking fights with my [fiance Eric Calvo] over how he made my coffee.

On top of that, I had this hideous ‘pregnancy mask’ skin discoloration [CBB note: melasma] which completely covered my face. You can normally use creams to disguise it, but not when you’re pregnant, so I had to walk around looking like I was horribly disfigured. This may sound arrogant, but I’m used to looking hot. I just wanted to cry all the time. Nobody tells you this stuff when you talk about having a baby — it’s all kept as one big secret.

The only amazing thing is when your baby pops out and you have this little thing that is going to be part of your life forever.

Jaime’s personal goal at the moment is being in shape for her 30th on July 30th, which she’s celebrating in a big way.

I’m having a party and then a [vacation] and I aim to be in a super-slutty outfit for the first and a swimsuit for the second. I love being a mother, but I want to be a super sexy mother with a better body than ever before…I want to look in the mirror and like what I see. People may think it’s [crazy] but it makes me happier to see my body coming back.

Jaime makes it a point to say how important it was to her to find her fiance Eric and plan for motherhood, despite being a part of a hit TV show.

So many Hollywood actresses become successful and then just keep on going — they miss out on having a partner and a baby and end up lonely. I know a lot of very rich, very successful, very lonely women in Los Angeles and I never wanted to be one of them.

That said, Jaime says she feels many of her Hollywood contemporaries either skip birthing altogether or adopt children because of selfish reasons.

Some women just skip having babies or adopt because they don’t want to get fat or they haven’t put in the time to find a partner. It’s great to adopt, but a lot of adoptions are motivated by vanity and laziness.

The new parents chose an announcement from Tiny Prints, deciding on the Blue Chocolate Bear style by Simply Put by Ashley Woodman, pictured at left.  The design features a diecut teddy bear on a blue card mounted on a chocolate brown card. (This announcement is very similar to the design Danielle and Josh chose for Anya’s birth announcement.)

The announcement is in keeping with the invitation Jaime used for her baby shower, also purchased from Tiny Prints, in the Boy Belly style. 

Jaime is just the latest mom to announce her celebrity baby birth with Tiny Prints; Gwen Stefani, Debra Messing and Ming Na are all clients of the Northern California stationery company.

But something will be cookin’ again soon: In the next two years, I’d like another child, so Dezi has a companion.

Why the safari theme?: Teddy bears get old. It’s great stimulation and he’ll grow into it. [We chose the crib and changing table] because you can use them for a boy or a girl.

The nursery was designed by Erinn Valencich, who worked with Pottery Barn Kids to put the room together.

The crib is Pottery Barn Kid’s Larkin Sleigh crib, which is not currently available – however, they sell a slightly different – and cheaper – version ($700).

The changing table is Pottery Barn Kid’s Larkin dresser in rustic sun valley expresso ($750), capped off with a changing table topper ($150). To the left of the table are blue stripe changing table storage boxes ($20).

The lamp is Pottery Barn Kid’s Marin table lamp ($80). Surrounding the lamp are animal letters spelling out Dezi’s name, as well as a childhood photo of Jaime, in addition to a photo of her fiance Eric’s Cuban grandparents, who ‘look like the Waltons.’ Jaime feels ‘its important to have different generations represented in the room.’

The Jungle Book-inspired wall panels were created by Los Angeles artist Seizer-One.

The giraffe is from FAO Schwarz’s Lifelike Animals Collection ($400).

On the changing table sits a ‘chick magnet’ pillow, which cracks Eric up – he’s so excited, says Jaime. The pillow was a gift. A pair of Robeez’s baby dinos in light blue ($26) are in front of it.

The ‘Dezi James’ chairs are a special gift. Jaime says, ‘Eric’s cousin painted the chairs for the baby. It means so much to us.’
