Update: Gretchen Mol and Kip Williams welcome son Ptolemy John

Gretchenmol595_cbbUpdate: Ptolemy John arrived on September 10th in NYC.

Originally posted October 20th: Actress Gretchen Mol, 34, and her husband, director Tod ‘Kip’ Williams, 38, welcomed a son in mid-to-late September. No announcement was made or details released — Gretchen simply showed up skinny to events on October 16th and 17th.

The couple had announced the pregnancy in May and revealed the sex in July, with Gretchen mentioning that they were not making a final decision on the name until their son made his debut.

Gretchen Mol enjoying 'walking everywhere' while pregnant with son

Gretchenmol A recent move back to New York has been well-received by actress Gretchen Mol, due in 7-weeks with her first child, who says that pregnant life in the big city brings with it many positives.

I wanted to have a New York baby.  I’ve just been walking everywhere.  I’m really happy to be back in the city, so I feel like that’s been helping my mood and everything.

Gretchen — who was gifted with Bugaboo stroller from her parents — says that she and her husband Tod Williams are waiting to meet their baby before they decide upon a name.  Although she hasn’t said publicly if she’s expecting a boy or a girl, it looks like Gretchen has a hunch!

We won’t know until he comes.

The baby boy is due to arrive mid-September.

Pregnant Gretchen Mol at book party

Actress Gretchen Mol and her husband, director Tod ‘Kip’ Williams, were snapped at the Liz Lange boutique Thursday evening in celebration of the book Hatched!: The Big Push from Pregnancy to Motherhood ($10). Gretchen is four months along. She spent some of the party talking pediatricians with Bridget Moynahan!

Gretchen Mol expecting first child

Actress Gretchen Mol, 34, and her husband, director Tod ‘Kip’ Williams, 38, are expecting their first child later this fall. Gretchen is four months along. In March 2005, the NY Post reported that Gretchen was expecting and had dropped out of a few roles due to morning sickness — however, the couple either lost the baby or was never pregnant in the first place. This time though, Gretchen is most definitely expecting.
