Catherine Zeta-Jones may not want to spoil her kids, but that won’t stop her parents from doing so. The No Reservations star tells David Letterman on The Late Show that when it comes to grandma and grandpa, Dylan, 6, and Carys, 4, can get whatever they want.
My kids have been with my parents in Wales [this summer], getting spoiled. They love it. Me and Michael [Douglas] are not allowed to go there because they get spoiled rotten and it takes me three weeks to try to get them back to normal.
Besides multiple visits to Wales, Catherine, 37, makes sure her kids know about their mom’s heritage by teaching them Welsh.
I try to instill the Welsh in the kids. They don’t speak fluent Welsh, but they know ‘Jingle Bells’ in Welsh. And they know their bellybutton is called a ‘boogal.’
However, not everyone knows that.
If I’m late coming home from work, I call them and say, ‘When you’re asleep, mama is going to come in and kiss your boogal.’ They say, ‘Oh no, mama, not the boogal! Not the boogal!’ Sometimes I speak it on the phone in front of people and I think I’m gonna be arrested – kissing their boogals while they’re sleeping.

Since he named daughter Shea Joelle, 4 weeks, after his beloved Mets’ home stadium, Kevin James promised his wife Steffiana De La Cruz first dibs on naming their next child. Her choice, though, may skew more towards entertainment than sports, he reveals on The Late Show with David Letterman.
I told her she can name our next child after something she likes. I think we’re looking at a Grey’s Anatomy coming out.
Kevin and Steffiana also have an older daughter, Sienna-Marie, 21 months, and Kevin says fatherhood the second time around is a lot less nervewracking.
I was so nervous with the first child, taking her home from the hospital and everything and you kinda loosen up with the second child a little bit, which is nice. The first child, I remember they just give it to you at the hospital, you’re supposed to put her in the carseat and drive home. And I was so nervous. I was 10-2 on the wheel in the right lane 30 miles an hour on the highway with the flashers going. Second kid, I had the top down. I was steering with my knees. I think I hit a drive-thru. I didn’t go straight home.
As for being a hands-on parent, Kevin says he gets involved, but is glad he doesn’t have to breastfeed, although Shea might want him to.
My wife does the breastfeeding, thank God. It’s awkward because at night the baby will sleep with us and my wife will leave in the middle of the night right after the breastfeeding and the baby’s still hungry and she’ll roll over and just look at me. I’m like, ‘No, no. These don’t function.’ She doesn’t believe me. She’s just looking at me like, ‘If you don’t want to give me any, that’s fine. Those are bigger than mom’s.’
Steffiana’s breasts were sore for a bit from feeding, and a nurse advised her to stuff a bag of popsicles in her bra to alleviate the pain, an idea of which Kevin approves.
I’m thinking, ‘Wow! Now I really wanna get in there.’ There’s no better combination in the world than a boob and a popsicle.
Most parents get on their kids’ cases about getting jobs and going towork, but for Michelle Pfeiffer, it was the opposite. The Hairspraystar took a self-imposed five-year break to focus on her family -husband David E. Kelley and children Claudia Rose, 14, and John Henry,12 – and pretty soon found herself being asked to go back to work, shesaid on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Honestly, I didn’t realize how much time was going by. I was having agreat time and then my kids started saying, ‘Hey mom, you going back towork soon?’ I said, ‘Yeah, isn’t it great? I’m here, I’m around. Isn’t itnice having me around?’ They said, ‘Yeah, but we really like visitingyou at work too.’ So anyway, I think they’re kind of happy that I’mback working.

Before they got glammed up for the White House Correspondents dinneron April 21, Teri Hatcher and her daughter Emerson Rose, 9, wereholed up at the dentist’s office all morning, the actress tells David Letterman on The Late Show Friday night. Emerson had been nursinga toothache the day prior, which turned out to be an abscess, andTeri’s best friend’s husband, a dentist, opened his office Saturdaymorning to work on her tooth. Because it was just the three of them,Teri, who loathes trips to the dentist, had to step up to the plate andbe a dental assistant.
He sees it is an abscess and he has to do surgery so I’mtrying to, you know – I’m swirly, I hate it, I’m squeamish, I’m goingto throw up – and then I’m trying to pull it together and go, ‘This isnot going to be a big deal for Emerson.’ So he does the novacaine andhe gives her a little of the gas. She’s perfectly fine cause she’sgoing, ‘I love the dentist. I wanna come here every day!’ And then ofcourse, I’m thinking, ‘Can I just take a tank of that home cause thatis really what I need.’ So I’m adjusting the light and then he says,’Scalpel,’ and then I hear him say, ‘I need suction.’ So there I am with the little vacuum thing sucking out the blood and whatever. It washorrible!
Despite all her nerves, there was a happy ending.
They did save the tooth.
Marcia Cross appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and talked about her twin daughters, Eden and Savannah, 2 months. After equating the challenge of raising twins to playing ping-pong on the interstate, Dave asked Marcia what the experience has been like.
It’s pretty non-stop. But it’s absolutely wonderful. You’re falling in lovewith one and there’s another one over here. And it’s constant joy andfeeding and burping and pooping and diaper changing.

It’s a very dramatic change. My whole life is in transition now withfriendships and where I’m gonna live, you know, just your wholeperspective. It’s great. She’s so adorable. She’s just a smiley, littlebeautiful thing.
In addition to being fathers, Dave also pointed out something else thetwo have in common – neither of them are married. Dave, who has a sonHarry, 3 1/2, with longtime fiancee Regina Lasko, joked that it’s "hardto get away with." Tobey says he’s only been engaged for a year, towhich the host responded with,
Oh yeah, me too. I’ve been engaged for quite a while.
Getting serious, Tobey gave Jen a shout-out and assured that they will tie the knot one day, in a small ceremony most likely.
I just want to say on that subject, I’m very excited to marry Jen and I love you very much.
As for expanding his brood, the Spider-Man 3 star certainly isn’t ruling that out.
That’s a possibility.
