Rumer Willis on movie set in West Hollywood

Rumer Willis, 19 next week, the daughter of Bruce Willis, 52, and Demi Moore, 44, films scenes for her upcoming movie project. Also in the pictures is American Idol runner-up Katherine McPhee. In the film, the two portray unconventional sorority sisters — Rumer plays a dork who refuses to remove an un-needed back brace, while Katherine plays a pregnant hippy.

Bruce Willis will put himself in front of a car for his daughters

74868241_cbbLive Free or Die Hard finds Bruce Willis‘ John McClane trying to rescue his daughter from Internet terrorists and the actor says he will go to great lengths to protect his own daughters, Rumer, 18, Scout, 15, and Tallulah, 13, in real life too.
That father-figure element is part of what a good friend of mine calls ‘The Mythology of ‘Die Hard’ – it’s one of the components of John McClane’s character. And it’s one that, before I had kids, I wouldn’t have said is a major part of the films. But now, having three daughters it is a major component – that idea that McClane has zero tolerance for injustice and will not allow any bad guy to try and cause harm to an innocent person. I feel that within every fiber of my body with my kids; I would put myself in front of a car or anything to protect my daughters. And by extension, I thought, yeah, that’s kind of what John McClane does, isn’t it?

Do celebrities make lousy parents?

Famous people should not be allowed to have kids.  At least, that’s the idea being advanced over at msnbc.com, where celebrities are knocked for everything from wrecking their kids soccer games by virtue of their attendance (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) to dangling their babies from balconies (Michael Jackson).  Between their inexplicable need to choose, ahem, odd baby names — Audio Science anyone? — to their even more inexplicable need to self-exploit via reality television, celebrities and their families have captivated the public in recent memory.  So much so, in fact, the author notes that "the hot celebrity accessory this season is the child — domestic or imported."

It’s only a matter of time before even Paris Hilton hops on this trend, ordering blond-hair extensions for her mini mirror image.  Here’s hoping Paris Jr. isn’t as easily misplaced as Tinkerbell.

Other offenses making the list of reasons why celebrities should be forbidden from having kids include their "innate inability to distinguish between healthy parent-child communication and ‘Glengarry Glen Ross," a nod to Alec Baldwin, and "Amicable divorces are even creepier than those that go to DEFCON 1," in reference to the Demi Moore-Ashton Kutcher-Bruce Willis love-fest.

It’ll be Rumer’s first lead and she’s excited.

Although this will be Rumer’s first go round as a lead actor, it will not be her first time on the big screen. She has had small parts alongside her parents in such films as Hostage, Striptease, Now & Then, and The Whole Nine Yards.
