Rumor: David Beckham on a "daughter diet"

Determined to have a daughter, the Sunday Mirror reports that Victoria Beckham has placed David on a strict alkaline-rich "daughter diet" to increase their chances of conceiving a girl.

According to a source, David has traded in dairy products, caffeine and alcohol for steamed vegetables, salads, asparagus, avocado, peppers, white meat and fish. He has also limited his red meat intake.

[Victoria] has always been fascinated by diet and she likes the idea that David can take positive action to increase the chance that they will have a girl.

Posh is doing her part by getting a fertility sign tattooed onto her body.

Victoria said she is going to get a fertility sign in an intimate place, for David’s eyes only.

Fertility diets to choose a girl or a boy aren’t proven scientifically to work.  Though they are widely popular, as are many unscientifically proven fads. The scientifically proven methods are a bit pricey for most, but definitely affordable for celebrities like Victoria and David Beckham.  These include things like MicroSort and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

Rumor: Posh to adopt a girl?

The Daily Star is reporting Victoria Beckham and David Beckham are planning to adopt a baby girl to fulfill Victoria’s dream of having a daughter. The former Spice Girl is supposedly "broody" after spending time with her new best pal Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise, 10 months. A source said,

She is desperate to have a daughter to be girlie with. Victoria loves the idea of having a girl to dress up, play with and make the family less male-orientated.

According to the source, Victoria is looking into a Mexican organization that Jennifer Lopez informed her of that finds homes for South American orphans.

Victoria’s rep, however, won’t confirm the reports, simply stating,

Victoria and David respect people who do adopt but they’re happy with their family at the moment.

The Beckhams have three sons together, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and Cruz, 2.
