Hugh Grant: Yes, Fatherhood Is Life-Changing After All

Just last month, Hugh Grant didn’t seem entirely sure about whether fatherhood had changed him. Now, he’s willing to concede it has indeed.

“Everyone was right all these years, saying, ‘Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life,’ ” the actor, 51, and dad to 6-month-old daughter Tabitha, says in an interview Friday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“Now that I have [a child], it is life changing,” he says. “I recommend it. Get some!”

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

The feeling of becoming a grandmother is a complicated one to express. Just ask Sharon Osbourne, whose son Jack welcomed his first child, daughter Pearl, with fiancée Lisa Stelly on Tuesday.

“It’s all overwhelming,” Sharon told PEOPLE on Wednesday.

“But in a good way — in a really positive, lovely way. It’s just amazing.”

With Pearl less than 48 hours old, Sharon’s already ready for more little ones she can spoil.

“I’ve got two more girls to marry off,” she says. “There will be more grandkids!”

J.R. Martinez Finishing Final Touches Before Baby

JB Lacroix/WireImage

The final countdown is on for J.R. Martinez and Diana Gonzelez-Jones to welcome their baby girl!

“Baby is around the corner. We’re getting diaper bags ready to go to the hospital, it’s that intense,” the dad-to-be, 28, told PEOPLE while offering his support at Dancing With the Stars.

“[We're finishing] the nursery’s final touches. It’s really amazing to see how everything is coming together.”

Despite putting all the preparations in place for his daughter’s May arrival, the reality of pending daddy duty is still a bit overwhelming for the actor.

“In a couple of weeks I’m going to be a father,” he muses. “I’m going to be holding a baby that I’m going to take care of for the rest of her life.”

Pat Monahan: How We Chose Our Son’s Name

Lionel Hahn/Abaca

When Pat Monahan and his wife Amber recently welcomed their son, there was no need for the couple to play the name game.

The Train frontman’s sister-in-law Summer — and their baby boy — had already spoken.

“My sister-in-law was having these very intuitive, very intense dreams that [my unborn son] was visiting her and insisting that his name was Rock,” the singer, 43, tells PEOPLE.

After several episodes of baby boy revealing his name choice, Monahan admits they began to “take it real seriously” — especially when the expectant parents weren’t getting the message.

Ioan Gruffudd: I Love Being Superdad

David E. Steele/Disney/ABC

Full-time daddy duty? Ioan Gruffudd is already signed up!

With his wife Alice Evans off filming The Vampire Diaries in Atlanta, the actor is quickly learning how to be a hands-on dad to the couple’s daughter, Ella Betsi Janet.

“The last time [Alice was in Atlanta], she was there for 10 days. So I had Ella the entire time, playing superdad,” the Ringer star, 38, says during a Thursday visit to the Rachael Ray Show.

“It’s very exciting. I love it. I can’t get over what great company they can be.”

Adding a new twist to the father-daughter relationship is that the 2½-year-old has learned to express herself.

Edie Falco: My Kids Think Everyone Is Adopted

Theo Wargo/Getty

When it comes to expanding the family, Edie Falco‘s son Anderson has his own ideas on the topic — and the actress is (for now!) more than happy to go along with his thought process.

“My son says, ‘So then the lady has the baby in her belly,’ and then I said, ‘And when the baby comes out she gives the baby to the mommy,’” the Nurse Jackie star, 48, told Anderson Thursday.

“I’m thinking I’m going to wait with that as long as I can, the fact that some of the ladies keep the babies for their own. We will get to that.”

The 8-year-old’s version of events come from his own experience; He — as well as Falco’s daughter Macy, 4 — was adopted and the discussion has remained on the table ever since.
