Ricky Martin is still living la vida loca, and now the single father has two companions along for the ride.

“My pants are made out of Velcro. So they just stick to me everywhere I go,” Martin jokes of his sons in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada airing Tuesday night.

“A lot of people say, ‘But Rick, kids, they need stability.’ I’m their stability. … They were born on the road, so they come with me everywhere and they like it. If they spend too much time in the same place, they go, ‘Dad, what’s next?’”

The Latin pop singer welcomed twins Valentino and Matteo via surrogate in 2008, publicly coming out as gay two years later. Now, Martin is balancing a music career with raising his sons, who turn 6 in August.

Martin, 42, says his boys are loving life on the road.

See the Cover of Ricky Martin’s First Children’s Book

Ricky Martin can now add children’s book author to his resume. Three years after the release of his autobiography, the father-of-two shared news of his latest publishing project, Santiago the Dreamer in Land Among the Stars, on his WhoSay account Monday.

“Exciting news! Here is the cover of my 1st children’s book, out Nov. 14th,” Martin, 41, wrote.

The kid-friendly tale — which will also be available in Spanish — is about a young boy named Santiago, who struggles with self confidence after he doesn’t land the lead role in his school’s play. Heavily influenced by his own childhood, Martin hopes his book “inspires young readers to believe that dreams woven from their imaginations can become reality.”

On the same day, the ecstatic singer also gave fans a sneak peek of an uplifting quote from the book. “When you reach for the moon … sometimes you land among the stars.’ – Santiago The Dreamer,” he Tweeted.

One thing’s for sure: come November, we know what Martin will be reading to 5-year-old twins Valentino and Matteo at bedtime.

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
