Fashion designer Rachel Zoe is a style expert, but for everything else maternity related, she turns to Dr. Michele Hakakha.

“She breaks it down in a very modern and real way, in a way that all us working moms and women on the go can really relate to,” Zoe told PEOPLE of Dr. Hakakha’s new book, Expecting 411: Clear Answers & Smart Advice for Your Pregnancy, at an event in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

“It’s just a really safe go-to, but really accurate and really genuine and really helpful.”

While Zoe is still a stylish mom, she admits that these days, her focus is on her kids, not couture. “My priorities are very different now,” she explains. “There’s just nothing like it. I’m happy all the time.”

She may get to work with big stars like Jennifer Lawrence and Sofia Vergara, but celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe says it’s her little ones that truly make her smile.

“I haven’t had a bad day since my first son was born,” Zoe told PEOPLE at Sean Penn‘s Help Haiti Home gala on Saturday. “Honestly, every day is heaven.”

Zoe, 43, and husband Rodger Berman are parents to sons, Skyler Morrison, 3½, and Kaius Jagger, 1, which sounds like quite a handful when you’re also juggling your own career and marriage. So how do they handle it?

“Weirdly enough the kids actually help you keep it together. It is chaos, but they just check you all the time. No matter what, you’re Mom,” she says.

According to Zoe, being a mother is her main focus in life right now — and her hard work is clearly paying off.

She may have her hands full with newborn son Kaius Jagger, but Rachel Zoe is still making plenty of time for her firstborn, son Skyler Morrison, 3.

“We have date nights!” the celebrity stylist told PEOPLE at the Baby2Baby Mother’s Day Party presented by Tiny Prints.

“We have a dinner date every night and then we’ll sit in bed and watch Mickey and snuggle and eat snacks. We’re madly in love with each other.”

Still, she adds, “It’s a juggle. A toddler is high demand and I’m constantly trying to avoid accidents because he’s a boy and he just wants to run. I literally watch him run in circles throughout the day.”

Rachel Zoe Shares Cutest Fashion Week Photo Ever

02/12/2014 at 10:00 AM ET

Just because Rachel Zoe isn’t showing this season doesn’t mean she isn’t checking in on the action from afar.

“This is how @msjordanjohnson of @rachelzoestudio and I watch the Oscar de la Renta show when no wifi at the office,” wrote the new mom, captioning an adorable pic of herself (with 7-week-old son Kaius Jagger sleeping on her chest) and a co-worker viewing a runway show online in the comfort of her L.A. home.

Despite completing her fall 2014 collection — which she describes as a mix of “French bohemia with Mod elements” — the designer decided to forgo New York Fashion Week after welcoming her second son in late December.

“As a new mother, my newborn son is too young to travel with me, and I’m unable to leave him for the amount of time required to appropriately prepare for the show in New York,” Zoe told WWD.

No one should be surprised that Rachel Zoe isn’t showing at Fashion Week. Ever since welcoming second son Kaius Jagger in December, the new mom has had only one focus — being with her baby boy. She’s even shared a few sweet snapshots of her family on Instagram.

The designer has also been posting cute pics of all the luxe baby gifts (à la Kim Kardashian) she’s received for her little guy, including a navy tweed Chanel teddy bear.

“Three words…Chanel teddy bear…even embroidered Kaius’s name and birthday!” she captioned the below photo of the chic stuffed animal.
