Roald Dahl’s classic Matilda proves the power of imagination — so it’s no surprise such a sharp little girl would inspire an especially creative Easter craft.

Of course, there are eggs involved, but crafting expert Amanda Kingloff, author of Project Kid: 100 Ingenious Crafts for Family Fun, also draws upon the character’s love of reading for her spring holiday project.

In an exclusive video for PEOPLE, Kingloff and her little helpers — the four stars of the Broadway hit, Matilda the Musical — show you how to make pretty decoupage Easter eggs using recycled books!

Now that Christmas is around the corner, we’re guessing your child’s wish list falls somewhere between this and, well, nothing.

So to offer a little inspiration outside of our gift guides, we asked a few of our mom bloggers to tell us what their kids are hoping for — and in some cases, getting– this holiday season. Very merry, indeed!

Sons Azer, 11, George, 10, and Henry, 9, are dreaming big this year. Azer wants a Gibson guitar because “music is everything to me, and that’s what Green Day uses.” For George, it’s all about the newest PlayStation 4. “I need to keep up with technology and my friends. Plus, soon all the cool games will just be for the 4.” And Henry is hoping for an Apple MacBook Pro, so “when my friends come over and we play Minecraft, we won’t have to share [the game].”

Mom’s response? “WHAT??!! When I was little …”

Down to wire and don’t know what you’re dressing your kids up for Halloween? Well, thanks to Oh Happy Day, a San Francisco-based party and lifestyle blog, here are four chic costumes you can whip up in no time.

Our favorite by far is the mini Anna Wintour. But the fur-clad André Leon Talley and red-wigged Grace Coddington are giving the Vogue editrix a run for her money. And the pint-size Karl Lagerfeld is a dead ringer for the real designer.

Want more details on how to create these fabulous looks before you head out to trick-or-treat? Check out Oh Happy Day’s two-part series here and here, which gives you all the details you need.

We are family!

On April 25, a super stylish Willow Smith (check out that colorful tweed short suit!) performed at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

The pint-size pop star, 10, whipped the crowd — including Malia and Sasha Obama — into a frenzy with hits including “21st Century Girl” and of course, “Whip My Hair.”

Willow also brought her equally fashionable mom Jada Pinkett-Smith and brother Jaden Smith, 12½, to share in the festivities.
