David Boreanaz plays a cocky FBI agent on his hit show, Bones, but he’s a softie when it comes to his almost 3-year-old daughter Bella and her mini beauty routine. That’s why the actor was happy to support his wife Jaime‘s latest project: Chrome Girl, an all-natural nail polish collection.
Launched in Feb. 2013, Jaime and her partner Melissa Ravo came up with the idea while polishing their little girls’ nails and realizing all the harmful ingredients that may inadvertently end up in their mouths.
So the good pals decided to make a polish that is free of all the bad stuff (formaldehyde, DBP, toluene or camphor) and safe enough for kids, but that doesn’t compromise on rich color.
It’s a good thing David was willing to help out during the creative process. “I immediately fell in love with designing the colors,” he tells PEOPLE. “And as a parent, I was immediately drawn to the safety benefits.”
And it already has celeb fans — mom and actress Jennifer Hudson, who wore the Hard to Get shade to this year’s Oscars.
