Billy Joel Chooses Gov. Andrew Cuomo for His Baby Girl’s Godfather, Celebrates Christening at Big Dinner

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been chosen as the godfather of Billy Joel and wife Alexis‘ baby girl, Della Rose, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Joel, 66, and Alexis, 33, celebrated their daughter’s christening with Cuomo and other close friends and family members in Roslyn, New York, on Tuesday.

The group of 20 dined on Greek fare at Kyma restaurant. At one point, Cuomo, the musician’s good friend, delivered a speech in the family’s honor, according to the New York Post.

Meet the littlest uptown girl.

Billy Joel and wife Alexis introduce their newborn daughter, Della Rose, in a sweet snapshot shared Thursday night at his Philadelphia show.

The wide-eyed little one, who arrived early Wednesday morning in New York, is pictured snuggled in her mother’s arms.

Della is the second child for the singer-songwriter, 66, and the first for his 33-year-old wife, an accomplished equestrian.

“Billy is thrilled to become a dad again,” a source told PEOPLE in April.

She’s got a way about her!

Billy Joel welcomed his second child on Wednesday, Aug. 12, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Wife Alexis delivered their daughter, Della Rose Joel, at 2:40 a.m. in New York.

Weighing in at 7 lbs., 6.5 oz., Della is the 66-year-old singer’s first child with Alexis, 33, an accomplished equestrian.

PEOPLE confirmed in April that the couple were expecting a baby together — another girl for the dad-to-be!

“Billy is thrilled to become a dad again,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.

It’s time for Billy Joel to start singing that lullaby again.

The “Piano Man” singer, 65, and girlfriend Alexis Roderick are expecting their first child together this summer, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The baby on the way — a source tells PEOPLE it’s a girl! — will be Joel’s second child. He has one daughter, singer/songwriter Alexa Ray, 29, from his previous marriage to supermodel Christie Brinkley.

Joel and Roderick, 33 — an accomplished equestrian and a former Morgan Stanley executive — have been together since 2009.

“Billy is thrilled to become a dad again,” the source adds.
