A.J. McLean revealed the sex of his second child on Monday at the premiere of the documentary We Are X in Los Angeles. “A lot of girls in the house! Girl power all the way!” the singer told Entertainment Tonight at the event. “All my boys have boys, so it’s nice to have girls.”

In addition, McLean, 38, shared that his wife Rochelle is due in March, the same month the Backstreet Boys kick off their Las Vegas headlining residency show, “Larger Than Life,” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

She’s due “literally just shy of a week after,” the father-to-be shared, adding, “Hopefully I’m not in the middle of the show and all like, ‘I have to go!'”

A.J. McLean has babies on the brain!

The singer and wife Rochelle are talking about giving their 3-year-old daughter Ava Jaymes a little brother or sister. There’s only one issue: Ava is adorably making it a bit difficult.

“[Ava] just moved to her big girl bed about a month and a half ago,” McLean, 38, told PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of The Finest Hours Monday in Hollywood.

“She now knows how to get out of her big girl bed in the middle of the night, [knocks on the door], ‘Mommy, Daddy?’ So Mommy and Daddy are trying to figure out when we get Mommy, Daddy time. We are talking about [baby] number two so it’s trying to figure out when and where!”

He adds, “We also talked about adoption possibly as well, to give a child a home. We’re in the process of figuring this out. We’ve given ourselves March 30th [as] our deadline to go one way or the other.”

A.J. McLean sings and dances for thousands of fans a night while he’s on tour with the Backstreet Boys — and it seems like his 23-month-old daughter Ava Jaymes has Daddy’s genes.

“She’s huge into dancing so we’re about to get her into dance class. Not sure where she gets that from,” he joked with PEOPLE at the Friends of Israel Defense Forces gala in Beverly Hills.

Ava may not be enrolled in dance class just yet, but she’s getting plenty of practice at home.

“We have a morning dance party,” says McLean, 36, adding that their early sessions also include his wife, Rochelle, and mother-in-law.

But Ava’s favorite artist for these dance parties might surprise you. No, it’s not dear ol’ dad.

After 20-plus years as a Backstreet Boy, it’s safe to say that A.J. McLean knows a thing or two about adoring fans.

The days of women tossing their undergarments onto the stage may have passed, but McLean, 36, is far happier with a girl who is more likely to playfully hurl food from her high chair: his daughter, 22-month-old Ava Jaymes.

“She is my number one fan!” he told PEOPLE Thursday while attending the Get Lucky for Lupus 6th Annual Poker Tournament, benefitting Lupus L.A., at the Avalon in Hollywood.

“When my wife turns on ‘In a World Like This,’ she is like, ‘Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!'”

He continues, “She’s definitely a daddy’s girl, she lights up, she’s laughing.”
