Emily Blunt Gets Honest About Breastfeeding: ‘When the Milk First Comes in, it’s Like a Tsunami’
The realities of moving from being parents of one child to two have been challenging for Blunt and Krasinski.
“After we got home from the hospital, I didn’t shower for a week, and then John and I were like, ‘Let’s go out for dinner,’ ” she says. “I could last only about an hour because my boobs were exploding. When the milk first comes in, it’s like a tsunami. But we went, just to prove to ourselves that we could feel normal for a second.”

Though their children don’t outnumber them yet, Blunt admits “it’s a zoo” now compared to sharing parenting duties of just one child.
“When there was just one kid, somebody would get to sit down. Now nobody gets a break,” she says. “But John is the most unbelievable daddy. He prioritizes Hazel so she doesn’t miss me too much because I’ve been so consumed with the baby.”
And Krasinski’s efforts are working as far as the newly crowned big sister is concerned.
“There have been no physical attacks or suffocations,” Blunt jokes of Hazel. “She fluctuates between complete disinterest and moments of sheer passion.”

Hazel’s dad isn’t the only one who is making sure she feels special, though. Blunt explains that she has a certain pull in her career that appeals specifically to her older daughter.
“My daughter thinks it is thrilling when my stylist comes over with racks of clothes,” she tells InStyle. “I always let her try on the stilettos.”
And Blunt is just as thrilled by — and gets a kick out of — her brood.
“They sound like two little old ladies,” she says, laughing, of her girls’ monikers. “They should be playing bridge or something.”
