Chrissy Teigen: I’m Not Exactly Comfortable Being Naked Yet with My Post-Baby Body

For new mom Chrissy Teigen, life with a newborn is changing a lot of things, including the 30-year-old’s opinion about swimwear.

Bikinis, for example, are temporarily off the table for the model — who famously posed in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue from 2010 through 2014 — after having daughter Luna Simone in April.

“Every shoot I have right now, I request like all one-pieces please or anything high-waisted,” the TRESemmé spokeswoman tells PEOPLE of how she feels about her post-baby body. “I’m still definitely not comfortable. I think I’m fine in clothes. But am I comfortable naked or in a bikini? Not exactly yet.”

Her solution: “I really just try to wear things that make me feel a little more confident,” she says. Since Luna, she’s gravitated toward silk dresses, tailored trousers and pencil skirts.

That’s not the only change in her life since Luna entered it — Teigen has adjusted her beauty routine, too.

“I’ve always liked to appear like everything is a little more effortless than it is,” she says. “But I definitely just don’t have the time, obviously … It’s so hard. There’s no time. It’s like cooking now. I love cooking, I love showering, I love cooking, but there’s no time.”

She even takes a few things from Luna’s arsenal. “We definitely use coconut oil on her little tush,” says Teigen, “and I also spread it on my toast.”

But bubble baths are off limits at the moment. “I bought a ton by Mr. Bubble thinking that Luna could use it right now, but no she can’t apparently because her skin’s too sensitive so I just use it,” she says.

And now that it’s been five months since Luna entered her and her husband John Legend‘s lives, she does have some advice to offer new parents.

“Take a class or two,” she jokes. “I didn’t and I kinda wish I did sometimes. But it makes everything fun and exciting because, man, kids they keep you on your toes. Just know that once you think everything is going perfectly and nothing is wrong, they’re going to flip it on you. And you have to be really ready to just adjust and laugh at it.”

Having a caring partner, like Legend, also helps, she says. “Make sure that you have such a strong bond with your partner, too, because there are days you’re gonna look over at him — or her — and be like, ‘Ugh,’ ” she says. “You gotta have that strong bond so you can bounce back from it.”

“Make sure you’re in love or at least, I don’t know, pretend,” she laughs.

I.don’t like this woman. She seems so desperate for media attention.

That’s the most honest statement I’ve ever heard coming from a celebrity! Kudos to her she and her husband seemed to be the most normal and grounded.

After seeing the title of this stupid article, I refuse to even read it. If she looks the way she does and still feels fat post-baby, then she should not open her mouth about it when the rest of us cannot afford trainers, chefs, and a full on glam squad to make us look perfect. So annoying and ridiculous.
