Hilaria Baldwin is getting real about what a body really looks like right after giving birth.

“I took this yesterday when Leonardo was about 24 hours old,” the yoga teacher and wife of Alec Baldwin, 32, wrote Wednesday next to a mirror selfie showing her belly a day after giving birth to her new son. “I did the same thing right after Rafael was born.”

She continues candidly, “It always makes me a bit nervous to do something like this, but I feel that in the age of such strong body shaming, I want to do all that I can to normalize a real body and promote healthy self esteem.”

I took this yesterday when Leonardo was about 24 hours old. I did the same thing right after Rafael was born. It always makes me a bit nervous to do something like this, but I feel that in the age of such strong body shaming, I want to do all that I can to normalize a real body and promote healthy self esteem. Many of you know that I love to show the process of life's experiences on the body and I am a firm believer in how a good diet and the right balance of exercise make us happy, healthy, and strong. So from here on, I want to dedicate the majority of my #366daysoflivingclearly #hilarialcm daily posts to getting back in shape and I invite you to do it with me ❤️🙏🏼. Common questions last time were: Did I have a c section?: No, I pushed him out Where are all the pads for bleeding?: I took them out briefly to snap this pic as there is a limit to how much you need to see 😂. Where am I?: in the hospital room bathroom #glamour Oh, and no filter. Just brightened it up a bit.

“Many of you know that I love to show the process of life’s experiences on the body and I am a firm believer in how a good diet and the right balance of exercise make us happy, healthy, and strong,” Baldwin, who was wearing only an underwear set by Heidi Klum Intimates, added in the caption. “So from here on, I want to dedicate the majority of my #366daysoflivingclearly #hilarialcm daily posts to getting back in shape and I invite you to do it with me.”

The new mom of three also shared more details surrounding her newborn’s birth.

“Did I have a c section?: No, I pushed him out,” Baldwin writes. “Where are all the pads for bleeding?: I took them out briefly to snap this pic as there is a limit to how much you need to see.

“Where am I?: in the hospital room bathroom #glamour,” she adds jokingly. “Oh, and no filter. Just brightened it up a bit.”

Baldwin is a big proponent of keeping a positive outlook about body image not only for her Instagram followers, but for her children.

“I’m very careful not to put myself down in front of [daughter Carmen Gabriela, 3], like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t feel good today,’ or the typical, ‘Oh I feel so fat’ or, ‘Oh look at me, I look terrible’ kind of stuff,” she told PEOPLE in May. “I’ve learned that that can be very damaging to children.

“I try to be very positive to the people around me. Like, ‘Oh wow, doesn’t she look beautiful?’ Or ‘He’s so sweet,’ or, ‘That was such a nice thing that he did,’ ” she added.

I like this gal. I don’t know much about her, but she seems pretty real and down to Earth. She also seems pretty confident and not afraid of some self-deprecation, which is a decent sign of humility in my book. Congrats on the baby!

Real truth on

What a way to show ” normal ” she is furthest from the normal woman’s body . She has 5 nannies amd 1 cook , nothing else to do but take care of herself .

Liz on

She Looks beautiful and I applaud her for showing what a body really looks like after giving birth–no immediate flat tummy. She documented her exercise and healthy eating habits throughout her pregnancy on Instagram and looked AMAZING, so this is a “normal woman’s body”–she just happens to be a very fit and aware normal woman.

Kathleen on

“I want to do all that I can to normalize a real body and promote healthy self esteem.”

Here’s a thought – normalize things by NOT taking pictures like most people.

Yul Gallimore on

She is awesome. Thank You Hilaria.🙂

danielle on

Such an ego. Who takes a selfie 24 hours after giving birth? Isn’t it ALL about the baby and not about the mom? No wonder she is married to Baldwin. Poor kids.

Blah on

I wonder where Donatello and Michaelangelo were when she took the pictures? Hope she realizes the Ninja Turtle trend with her kids names lol.

alh01b on

I like her, but this is not what the normal postpartum body looks like. She’s a celebrity. So this is still annoying to publish that this is representing “normalizing a real body after baby”

lucy on

I wouldn’t really consider that picture to be of a normal body. It looks like she really took care of herself while she was pregnant and didn’t let herself go like other women.

Guest on

Yes I guess this is as much “normal” as any woman, if you hold to the belief that every woman is “normal” as she is: some slender, some heavier, some more toned, some softer. But I take exception to what she really means, which is to present her physique as “typical” of a 1-day-post-partum woman. It is not, and it’s the worst kind of narcissistic hubris to pretend otherwise. I’d honestly find it less irritating if her message was “see how discipline and exercise can benefit your body during pregnancy?” than this “oh I’m just like everyone else” false modesty. Good for her (honestly) but give me a break, too.

Laura Blair on

OMG, get over yourself, no one really cares! Tho I do love the Ninja Turtle theme you got going on.

sally on

Nervous? She knows she has an amazing body, that is why she posts- UNREALISTIC photos after her births. I would say- 90 % of the women out there do not look like this after giving birth. What is her point??? Let’s face it- she is obsessed with herself and that’s pretty much it. To most women, it looks like she had too much Mexican food for dinner!!

Seriously on

Good for her but this is not the norm! I wish these celebs would stop showing their perfect bodies days or weeks after giving birth. Normal women don’t have the financial resources for cooks, nannys, trainers, and tummy tucks. Just thank your lucky stars.

StaceysMomHasGotItGoinOn on

Yes, I’m sure she has a squadron of hired help, but a) most celebs are all like “look, I’m back in my size 00 jeans 36 hours after giving birth!” Seeing this is so much better, and b) yes, she looks great & has a just a belly still after just giving birth. Proof that if you don’t eat everything that is not nailed down, and do mild exercise (even just walking) it’s possible to not take 4 years to recover. I’m a working mom and packed healthy food for work & took a nightly walk & managed to get back into my clothes in no time. Don’t indulge your every craving, esp if it’s for tacos at 3:30am.

NO NO NO on

So where are her net panties with the giant ice pack/maxi pad? I mean, one day after birth, that’s what normal looks like.

sandy on

That’s real nice Hilaria! But MOST, no all women have on the granny panties with HUGE pads to soak up blood. They have a maternity bra on that is holding HUGE, gorged breasts that are SO and many have bleeding nipples. I was laying down with a huge C-section scar that was trying to heal while struggling with breatfeeding. My hormones were TOTALLY out of whack, so I was crying too. I had not washed my hair since before going into the hospital so it was dirty and messed. Make-up? FORGET IT! I could go ON and ON……all I’m saying is this is NOT the norm. Nor do most women have millions of dollars to pay for housecleaning, nanny at home watching the other kids, etc……… I wish these celebs would STOP this nonsense.

My opinion on

A few more and she will have all the ninja turtles.

maura on

I really like what she is saying, she is beautiful and she has taken care of herself while pregnant and it shows. So what if she has nannies and cooks that’s their business. She still has to have self control and mental balance to keep healthy for herself as well as her children. Congratulations on your new arrival..

pam on

NOT! Where is the granny panties with the SUPER ULTRA maxie pad soaking up blood? Where is the nursing bra- and mom with gorged breasts and sore or bleeding nipples? What about the mom whose hormones are all out of whack so they are crying and so messed up? I had a c-section so I was recovering with sore breasts and crying colicky baby and worry of who was taking care of my 2 1/2 year old who I missed terribly. Being rich helps, nanny, house cleaner, someone to cook, etc…. Needless to say I had none of these. On top of it, most have stretch marks and stomachs looks wrinkly and deflated. YOU look like you went out for Mexican and ate too much. I just WISH so bad these celebs would STOP this nonsense!!!!!!

HA! on

The countdown was on. I knew the picture was coming. How predictable. I truly think this women has keeps having kids to post these photos. Does she want a banana because she did yoga through out her pregnancy and can now proudly post a photo looking like she never had a kid? I don’t get it. Some psychologist needs to get to the root of the selfie obsession. Her and Kim K. are in need of some serious help!

Elena on

Please Lord may this one be this bimbo’s last child. We have all seen enough selfies. Go take care of your kids moron.

elegant gypsy on

I am so happy that when my two children were born over 30 years ago, we didn’t have social media. Life seemed much simpler and people actually talked to each other rather than having their faces buried in their “smart” phones (or posting nasty photos and saying mean things to each other). I’ll stick with my flip phone.

Why

Anonymous on

I fit into my regular jeans two days after having my first son at 22 and than at 30 after 2nd son it took 6 months to lose all the weight. I gained 2 lbs more the second time around. It can happen just depends on luck I think because I looked only pregnant from front with first one second one I was all over. I think getting older my body took longer to recover. It is her life and if she wants to show it than go for it.

life goes on on

Alec the pig and Hilaria the sicko are overbearing and both sick in their head. She going to throw him a few more piglets and then gets divorced from him and takes him for every penny he has. Now Kim Basinger was and is a lady.

Anya on

Her career was and is in fitness. Her body benefited from her job so you can’t say it’s cooks, nannies or the being married to a rich husband. I agree though that her body after giving birth is completely not the normal for people who work sitting at a desk all day or taking care of kids. Her idea of normal is absolutely amazing!

Anonymous on

Jeez stop all the hate she’s a yoga instructor who was in great shape before and during. Stop all the jealousy.

Dahlia on

What a gut. Time she get up off her lazy butt and start exercising.

Enough on

My gosh why do people feel the need to show us their naked body or practically naked bodies?? no one cares!
People are so self-absorbed these days it makes me want to vomit. She did not do it to show what a real body looks like Kama otherwise she would have been fully clothed with a snug fitting ensemble. She did it for attention hence the reason she is in her panties and bra. Grow up and take care of your newborn lady.

profitnets on

This is pretty crazy. I gave birth to twins 5 weeks ago and I look like her stomach-wise. I didn’t gain much weight and was 5 lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight in a few weeks, so my bulge is my uterus that refuses to shrink back to normal size. Not sure how she managed that in one day. Granted I had twins and she’s likely much taller than I am with a much firmer abdomen, but it’s impressive.

profitnets on

Noticed the last photo she’s wearing a wig. Hair is much longer, fuller and completely different color. Looks good though. I used them too when people came to see me after I gave birth.🙂

Blanca on

She is European from Majorca Spain. Europeans have a different mindset.

heather on

So brave. Give this woman an award ASAP!

katie on

24 hours later and she feels the NEED to rush into the hospital bathroom, take out her PADS, put on some sexy langerie, and take a after photo for all the world to see how great she looks. COME ON! Stop in Hilarie!!! We really NEED to stop putting so much pressure on new moms. You do know most women cannot live up to this. Do you really want them to feel the need to neglect their newborn to accomplish selfies in the bathroom?!!!!

Anonymous on

So an already super thin, body conscience, yoga instructor, celebrity wife that has to be thin because she will probably hate herself is posting a pic of her still bloated belly which is water that goes away in days. This a picture of a woman gloating not being “Brave”! All that is left is live streaming their births. Sick twisted world we line in!

krtmom on

That is not your average post pregnant body!

yes! on

I am SO with Elegant Gypsy above!! Thank GOD I had my kids before all this social media nonsense. Probably why I just cannot get addicted or really into it. I see so much narcissism and stupid things it just floors me! I come from an era where NO women who just had a baby would have a picture taken in her underwear. I look at this and I just wonder- why????

Flying Storke on

She just gave birth to second child congrats to them. Your body changes after every birth and it’s so ridiculous to think you can fit back into your “Skinny jeans” day after birth!! Older you are harder it is not easy to loose the pregnancy weight fast.

Shut up on

Attention wh0re

Cathy on

Beautiful!!!

Mrs. B on

When I left the hospital after giving birth, my stomach was flatter than hers. The reason is was flat is because I didn’t gain much weight during my pregnancy. I was so sick morning, noon and night that I couldn’t eat much. For those asking where her peri pad is-read the article. She clearly states why she’s not wearing one. Some of you people are so hateful and negative, that you just look at the picture without reading the story, and then go off on a rant!

sheila on

“Normal”??? That’s what my body looks like right now and I’ve never even been pregnant!

Ter on

I need to marry me a rich man so’z I can spend all my time on my appearance too, dammit!

Warped reality on

Sorry but most women do not look like this after giving birth. You’re hilarious, Hilaria.

aphra75 on

She’s a yoga instructor, is she not? Or at least she used to be. So–she’s super fit. Of COURSE she’s going to look way more toned postpartum than your typical mom. Don’t get all upset, people.

Jen on

Talk about oversharing. Have some self-respect, woman. Put it away.

LOL on

What a bunch of whiny jealous women on here. How about a tip, get off your arse, stop stuffing your face in front of the computer and do something physical then you might look like her after giving birth.

Mandy on

Where are the sexy postpartum under pants/leggings that hospital gives you? That would have been “real”! Lol

Robbyrob on

Don’t really see how this pic would make much difference in the world…its pretty normal to still have your bump 24 hours after labor…

Laura on

This is obnoxious.

Dana on

Anyone else catch that the article says Alec Baldwin is 32??!

Poor Alec Baldwin on

It’s hilarious that Alec Baldwin, who constantly rants against the paparazzi and the invasion of his family’s privacy, married the biggest fame@hore outside the Kardashian family.

rKER321 on

i HAD MY 4OTH CHILD AND i WAS WEARING A BIKINI 10 EAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH, mY STOMACH WAS NOT AS BAD AS HERS.

GoodGolly on

She is absolutely ridiculous. She has 3 very young children, its her first day home after giving birth and her priority is taking and posting selfies.

Ridiculous. Instead of having your 5+ full time nannies raise your kids, how about YOU raise them, Hilaria? You’re their mother, the nannies are not. I bet she and Alec are the couple on the Blind Gossip page about the actor who demanded in his prenup that his wife lose the baby weight in a certain amount of time, otherwise she loses her wife ‘bonus’. Or maybe she just doesn’t want the bloated hubby of hers to call her a ‘thoughtless pig’ like he said to his daughter.

Now Hilarious can teach poor Carmen to be vain and shallow and the bloated one Alec can teach his 2 Ninja Turtle sons to use racist terms and call women ‘thoughtless pigs’.

Nada on

Really? This is a “celebrity body” due to nannies, chef’s the best personal trainers, plastic surgery, etc. Nothing “normal” about a stars lifestyle.

Heh on

I haven’t had a child so I actually appreciated seeing this picture. The main point is that you don’t birth a child and immediately lose the shape of the pregnancy belly. I understand that some of you went through much less picture perfect post-birth moments but I can’t really fault her for things going relatively smoothly for her. She’s giving me a much more realistic perspective of what having a child is like than most celebrities, even if it is perhaps more perfect than the average woman’s experience. After Kate Middleton had Prince George and came out of the hospital with belly intact was the first time I saw that sort of thing. Seems that normal women, like celebrities, don’t go around talking and showing it because I never even knew.

Guest on

There is really no need to show the world what her body looks like 24 hours after giving birth. This is narcissism at its finest. TMI on taking out her pads for the pic. Don’t know her, and certainly don’t feel the need to see her body. Is nothing sacred anymore??? Put your clothes on and go take care of your kids!

SM on

Are they going to have all of the Ninja Turtles!🙂

Mom on

Oh please!! Put some clothes on!! Us moms in the real world have to work we don’t have the luxury of a chef to eat right.. A personal trainer…

guest on

Even one day post birth she looks better than the huge number of fatties I see in public on a daily basis with their belly rolls and massive thighs and rears. Do women not care anymore about how fat they’re getting?

Anonymous on

She’s a pig like her husband.

NotAFan on

Can’t stand this attention-seeker!

Guest on

Yes this is normal… For someone who doesn’t have a real job and just dumps off her kids with the help while she does yoga all day.

How disconnected from reality do you have to be to think that your life as a spoiled celebrity housewife is representative of “normal” in any way?

Barbara on

I have followed Hilaria Baldwin and her family on Instagram for several years. She never fails to impress me and make me think. She has never disappointed me with her point of view, and I applaud her continually for keeping it real. Bravo, and welcome little Leonardo.

Christine on

That’s not a normal body. I had stretch marks all over my tummy and I looked similar to Jaba the hut with the rolls I had going on. She was super skinny before and was still very fit while pregnant. She’s just making women feel even more like crap because of her “normal” body

A on

Not even close to reality.

Linda on

What a joke. If only!

Donewithcelebs on

Pictures like this just make me feel worse about myself. Thanks.

OK now I do feel bad- My oldest son wanted to name his new twin brothers after the Ninja turtles and we wouldn’t let him

Melliebellie on

Lol to all the jealous moms on here. Green with envy isn’t a good color for you all.

Myself on

So I appreciate that she is trying to promote healthy bodies and honest discussion. All forms of body shaming are devastating. It is brave to take this picture at all and to mention the pads that are part of post partum bleeding. But, while she has every right to be proud of her body she must realize that millions of women look NOTHING like this 24 hours after giving birth to their 3rd child? The hospital nurses, her friends, family, etc, must be telling her how amazing she looks! And she does! So I just wonder how much good she is doing the average woman by showing off her yoga honed well nourished upper class lifestyle body?

Melanie on

To all you jealous haters posting ridiculous hateful stuff on here….
1) She is 1 day postpartum, so her milk has not come in yet, hence no
engorgement yet.
2) She clearly stated she didn’t think leaving her pads on was necessary (and it’s not).
3) She stated she was demonstrating that even though she continued to exercise and eat healthy throughout her pregnancy, she doesn’t have a flat abdomen and that takes time.
4) If all of us who watched out weight during pregnancy, exercised regularly, and took good care of ourselves (regardless of income) have to wear sacks to keep you from feeling bad about your fat rolls, then too bad. Hilaria isn’t the only one who takes care of herself when pregnant, and we were broke when I had #3 so I darn sure didn’t have help, and in fact had to take care of a sick parent for several months, in addition to my 3 kids, the oldest one barely 4.
5) reading your criticisms of someone who is trying to encourage others, claiming they have not just a nanny, but 5 nannies all at the same time….and a constant personal chef, and that keeps you fat is so irritating. We were broke, and most of our friends were, as well. None of them, however, didn’t take care of themselves while pregnant, in spite of the fact we were taking care of our own kids, and cooking our own food. Ugh! Get over your whiny selves!
Congratulations to the Baldwins…beautiful baby, and lovely family!

Anonymous on

Three kids three and under and she’s hanging out taking naked selfies.
VAPID VAPID VAPID woman. But then she’s married to Alec Baldwin, so it’s no surprise….

SASHAC on

Do you know why 90% of women don’t look like Hilaria? Because people don’t take care of themselves. They DO let themselves go. America is fat, whether you are pregnant or not. Anyone could look like her post-partum if they got off their couches and did exercise and ate healthy. It’s not a celebrity thing; it’s a not being lazy thing. C’mon, get off the couch, get some exercise and you too will look great.

Ricki on

Did she seriously name her kids Rafael and Leonardo? Is she having kids or Ninja Turtles?

Gma Karen on

I am elated for Alec Baldwin and his very beautiful wife
To see them share their special happy moments is a very positive way to express that their union is secure and solid

Wisewizard777 on

BRAVO, HILARIA REALLY CONFIRMED THE STUDIES–THE SPANIARDS ARE THE MOST PERVERTED IN THE WORLD! I think she’s either sick in the head, has been dropped to many times as a baby in the slums of Spain, or Alec lost interest in her and she’s longing for ATTENTION! Perhap, she should do her children a HUGE favor and hide from the world because I guarantee you that those children are SCARRED FOR LIFE! Wait till they go to school and ppl find out who their mom is…YIKES! The thought of it just SCARES the HECK out of me!😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬

It's a big, big world on

Geez, people, she’s from Spain, and Rafael and Leonardo are extremelly common names in Spanish (and Portuguese and other Latin languages too, with variations). This Ninja Turtles thing is not as funny as you and the other 238725 people who’ve attempted the joke so far seem to believe. It simply sounds provincial.

NotAFan on

Absolutely cannot stand this attention-seeking skank!

Blanca on September 14th, 2016
She is European from Majorca Spain. Europeans have a different mindset.

Europe is a continent with different countries, cultures and so on. What different mindset are you referring to that “we” who live in Europe have?

E on

No, this is purely for her to brag about how good she looks 24 hours post birth. This is in no way an attempt to “normalize” anything. How sickening for her to pretend her purpose is for the greater good when it will in fact make women with “normsl” post birth bodies feel shamed and insecure. She needs to stop.

Olly on

So this is “normalize celebrity bodies after birth”

Mary on

Hurray! Some one willing to show what we all looked like for a few days after giving birth. Good for the truth.

Meena on

Postpartum bodies are normal for each particular woman. I gained 23 pounds. The moment my son popped out, my stomach was flat. The same day. The nurses making their rounds were astounded. Does that happen often? No, but it was my normal.

william on

People like her REALLY are interested in promoting themselves however possible. Look at me! Look at me!

megan on

I’m surprised she didn’t jump off the delivery table & take a belfie to prove she’s a fit mommy. Pathetic

Phyllis on

Beautiful covers it all. Alex must be the happiest man in the World and his oldest daughter, who seems to be sharing this happiness. This shows so much love, and I love it. So happy for them all, as if they were my family. God Bless them.

Phyllis on

The letters from so many women in this column are really nasty. Why does a women put down another woman for some crazy jealousy? It seems to me that we get enough of that from disturbed men who dislike the fact that we women are Great and Beautiful and Capable. It’s about time you all started being happy and proud of “one of our Sisters” and praise them. Remember, you could have that happening to you, your daughter, your friend, your Mom… ! Have a little love and respect for others and it might come back to you.

Carole Ann on

There is a reason they call People magazine “knee pads”!

Ter on

Welllll……………..the reason women have a “bump” after delivery isn’t due to “FAT” it’s due to the enlarged womb, doh. The womb is what takes time to reduce in size, regardless of how many pounds you gain during pregnancy. The rate of womb-size reduction will vary between women. I don’t advocate starving one’s self during pregnancy (or during lactation) simply so one can tout the small amount of weight gain one has experienced….. “one” lol.

Lauren on

I think her message would have been more powerful if she didn’t change out of the standard issue hospital underwear and jumbo pad.

nanam on

Congrats on baby #3! Could have done without all the info, Nothing wrong with a c section or not all that matters is the outcome of healthy baby and mom! Also on the pad being taken, eeewwwee didn’t need to go there! I hope her hubby is a better parent then his first go around with Ireland. I think for someone who has went the rounds with the media this wife he has now sure is on a lot with details of their lives
