Alexa and Carlos PenaVega Expecting a Son Named Ocean King: ‘We Can’t Wait to Meet This Little Blessing’
There’s going to be a new little guy in the PenaVega household!
“Ocean King PenaVega,” Alexa, 27, wrote next to the sweet profile shot of her son before adding three heart emojis. “We can’t wait to meet this little Blessing. #BabyPenaVega #MyLilMan.”
“God called the dry ground ‘land’ and the water the ‘seas.’ And God saw that it was good,” the actress explained in the caption of her son’s moniker. “That is why we went with Ocean. And he is a son of the one true ‘King.’ For us it has a beautiful biblical meaning.”

“OCEAN KING PENAVEGA,” Carlos, 27, wrote in the caption accompanying the same ultrasound image, which he cross-posted to his own account, adding anchor emojis and the hashtags, “#babypenavega” and “#daddyslittleboy.”
The couple, who were married in 2014 and announced they were expecting in June, have been sharing photos over the past week of their two-week babymoon/double birthday trip (both of them celebrate their birthdays in August).
Happy Birthday to the man I want to spend every adventure with. You have a heart for the Kingdom and are such a beautiful light in this world! You make everywhere you go better… Your smile… Your love… Your faith… Your strength… Your dorkiness… You hold nothing back. You are an amazing leader… A wonderful husband and will be an incredible father 🙂 Here is to a whole new adventure together. I love you my angel. @therealcarlospena #27
And though they are extremely excited about welcoming Ocean into their lives, the PenaVegas — who were the first married couple to ever compete on Dancing with the Stars — weren’t without challenges along the road to conception.
“I thought for sure it’d be like, ‘One, two, three, wham, bam, we’re pregnant!’ ” Carlos said in a June vlog on the couple’s YouTube channel. “But no, that’s not the case. You gotta keep trying, trying, trying … and try some more. Which is not a bad thing.”
