Father of nine Eddie Murphy has no doubt learned a lot of parenting skills along the way, but diaper duty is not one of them.

“I don’t change diapers … ’cause I would be horrible at it, and that’s not fair to the child,” the actor and comedian, 55, told Extra during an interview about his upcoming drama Mr. Church.

But his newest addition — 3-month-old daughter Izzy Oona with girlfriend Paige Butcher — is doing great even without her dad’s diaper help.

“She’s doing wonderful,” he says. “Sleeping through the night.”

Murphy is also dad to Christian, 25, and Eric, 26, as well as Bria, 25, Myles, 22, Shayne, 21, Zola, 15, and Bella, 13 — the latter five with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell — and 9-year-old daughter Angel with Melanie Brown.

And much of the family, including Murphy’s ex Mitchell, showed up to support daughter Bria at the recent premiere of her new film Amateur Night, which also stars Jason Biggs and Ashley Tisdale.

“Everybody’s really cool with each other and it’s all love all the way around. Everybody gets along — that’s a good thing,” Murphy says. “It’s a love fest at the house.”

I hate when one parent slacks and then makes a smart remark like I don’t change diapers because its not fair to the baby. KUDOS to all the TEAM parents out there…wish more people were like that.

I’m all for parents breaking up duties if it makes it easier for them. But I don’t get the ones who refuse to do it. There is no chore that is too disgusting. and whatever is difficult….you learn it. You don’t leave it to the other parent.

I dont see why you cant change diapers. She didnt lay down by herself and make that baby. Plus you clean your own self right?

baby has two parents so I dont see why you cant change diapers especially if the other has something to do and you there watching the child. You have to

Of course, diapers are so very difficult to change these days! I suppose he isn’t any good at taping the two ends together on the disposables, I can see where that would require specialized training … But what he doesn’t realize is that he is missing out! I always loved diaper changing time, it’s a great time to do raspberries on a baby belly, play tickle monster and hear your baby laugh his little head off!

Someone needs to give this man a vasectomy.

He has certainly had enough kids to practice on. He should be good at it by now.

That’s not what he said in a previous interview. Before he said he didn’t change diapers because it’s “woman’s work”.

He’s such a loser. Poor kids. Their dad may be rich money, but he’s poor in compassion & common sense

Izzy Oona? Really? The name Oona is quite lovely, but not Izzy. Shivers!
