Katherine Heigl Reveals the Pregnancy Advice She’s ‘Taking to Heart Really Literally’

There’s no Doubt that Katherine Heigl is enjoying her first pregnancy.

The actress, who is expecting a baby boy with husband Josh Kelley, opened up about her experiences when she promoted her upcoming CBS drama at Wednesday’s TCA Panel in Los Angeles.

I get a lot of advice from everyone. The thing I’m [most] taking to heart, really, literally, is to get as much rest as you can,” Heigl, 37, told PEOPLE. “I feel great. I’m very, very grateful. I’ve had a really easy, knock on wood, pregnancy so far.”

The couple will welcome their son in January. Heigl and Kelley already have two daughters — Naleigh Mi-Eun, 7, and Adalaide Marie Hope, 4 — whom they adopted in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

And no one is more “relieved” to be expecting a baby boy than Kelley. “He’s just surrounded by women. It’s me, the two girls, my niece Madison lives with us in Utah and she’s a 14-year-old girl, and then my mom,” Heigl explained during the panel session.

“The poor guy, he’s literally surrounded by women. I think he’s just really excited. His brother (Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley) had a baby last February, a little boy, and they’re already talking about their golf foursome.”

As for pregnancy cravings, Heigl said her favorite foods are luckily at her convenience.

I’m just tired and hungry – really hungry! For donuts. On sets they always have craft service and have three boxes of donuts every day. I just try to take a bite or two … or six,” she shared, adding, “The sugar thing has been really bad – and I’m not generally a sugar person. On occasion I’ll have dessert. If you put a cinnamon [roll] in front of me, I get ugly.”
