Fifty Shades Star Jamie Dornan on Being a Father of Two: ‘It’s Pretty Insane’

08/06/2016 at 07:45 AM ET

As Christian Grey, Jamie Dornan is in full control, but off-screen he’s just trying to keep up with two kids.

During a Friday appearance on Live! With Kelly, the Fifty Shades of Grey star shared his experiences being a father of two, as he and his wife Amelia Warner welcomed their second daughter earlier this year.

“We’ve got two little girls now, so it’s pretty insane,” he said. “One of my best friends said that one is a pet, two is a zoo.”

Although he does admit that being a family of four is hectic, Dornan, 34, isn’t exactly sold on the whole zoo analogy since he thinks it’s all a matter of adjusting to a new baby.

“It’s been a big adjustment and it’s definitely harder and you get less time to yourself, but human beings are very good at adaptation,” the Irish actor added. “You have to just go with it and accept less sleep and accept less time in your hands and accept less reading of books and washing and all the usual things you do in a day.”

However, just because he’s accepted that he’ll have less time to himself that doesn’t mean he’s ready to try for more.

“I always thought I’d want the boy because … I think as a guy you just think, ‘I’ll have a little mini version of myself’ or something in a sort of narcissitical way, but then once you’ve had girls I can’t imagine having [another one],” Dornan said.

Dornan and Warner first welcomed daughter Dulcie in November of 2013. In October of 2015, Warner’s second pregnancy was confirmed when the pair was spotted in London.

Get it right, People Mag.
What he really said was:
“I always thought I’d want the boy because … I think as a guy you just think, ‘I’ll have a little mini version of myself’ or something in a sort of narcissitical way, but then once you’ve had girls I can’t imagine having ANYTHING BUT,”
He didn’t say “I can’t imagine having another one.” BIG DIFFERENCE
