All the Details on Kerry Washington’s Nail Color Named for Her Daughter Isabelle

Kerry Washington has tacked on OPI Creative Ambassador to her long list of achievements.

The soon-to-be mom of two recently teamed up with the brand to collaborate on their fall/winter lacquer collection, called OPI Washington D.C. So it’s only fitting that the stylish actress, who plays Olivia Pope on the political drama Scandal, was someone whose influence OPI sought.

One person Washington herself looked to for inspiration? Her 2-year-old daughter Isabelle Amarachi, whom Washington named one of the colors for.

“There’s a phrase in D.C. where people say, ‘Inside the Beltway,’ so one of the colors is ‘Inside the ISABELLEtway,’ ” the actress, 39, tells PEOPLE. “It’s one of my favorites, actually, because it’s a beautiful nude for brown girls.

“When I was growing up, ‘nude’ didn’t always mean people that looked like me, so it’s a really beautiful neutral for darker tones, which I love,” she adds.

The new line is made up of 15 shades with fun names such as “Squeaker of the House,” “Madam President” and “Pale to the Chief.” Aside from the Isabelle-inspired hue, the collection will include two additional, limited edition bonus colors: Kerry Blossom and Liv in the Gray.

Though her daughter was the inspiration behind one of the colors, Washington says it hasn’t really fazed the toddler.

“I don’t think she would care quite honestly at this point. But maybe one day down the road,” she admits.

“I haven’t painted her nails. But she’s around it a lot, I mean if she’s with me at work,” continues the actress, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha.

“She hangs out in the hair and makeup trailer a lot. She loves a good fan brush because it feels so fun.”

But Isabelle isn’t just inspiring Washington’s nail polish collection — the soon-to-be big sister may soon be the mini muse for her sibling’s wardrobe, too.

“Some of it, not all of it,” Washington says when asked if she has saved Isabelle’s baby clothes on the off chance she will reuse them. “I also really like to share, you know? I like to spread the love.”

How appalling. Were I someone’s daughter I would want a star, a forest, a charity program, an advocacy service, or maybe a newly-discovered bacterium or protozoan named for me. But this? Does Kerry know what nail polish is made of, how it’s manufactured, what it DOES? Her child is two. Her child should be surrounded by natural fabrics, should be barefoot, should not be painted or tainted or smellified. revolting.

That’s a terrible name for a nail polish shade. You can bet the bigwigs at OPI thought “oh my lord, if she was less famous we could tell her no straight up. Next time you give her a preapproved list of names to choose from”

Kerry Blossom is way too cute. She’s fun I would like to buy one of her polishes.
