Pregnant Blake Lively Ditches Her Heels (and Treats Herself to a Milkshake) After Glam Event

07/22/2016 at 08:15 AM ET

Milkshakes and comfortable shoes make Blake Lively a very happy woman!

The actress — who has spoken about embracing her maternity style while pregnant — looked radiant as ever at the launch event for Target’s Cat and Jack clothing line in New York on Thursday night — but it seems Lively couldn’t wait to ditch her high heels after the event.

“Milkshake: check. Comfortable shoes: check. Having a slit in your dress to make you feel better about the aforementioned: check,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself holding a milkshake in a slightly altered version of the floral outfit she donned at the event.

The 28-year-old expectant star wore a flower-printed, wrap-around dress with a matching floral-printed purse and a pair of heels to the soirée. But in the Instagram photo, Lively opted for a pair of Converse sneakers with the dress.

Last month, Lively spoke to PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly editorial director Jess Cagle about dressing up while pregnant.

“It’s fun to dress up in a big sparkly number and a Cinderella-looking dress,” the actress said.

Pregnant Blake Lively on Staying Fashionable: ‘It’s Fun to Dress under the Circumstances’

“I came home to my [18-month-old daughter James] and she was like, ‘Wow.’ You know, because you just look like a Disney movie,” Lively added. “It’s fun to get to do that. Because when you’re a little girl you play dress-up, and now I get to do it in big-girl life too.”

Seriously, who cares. This chicks face is popping up everywhere and I’m not even sure why? Is she in movies that people actually see?

@Amy Hi hater!

Sam on

@Amy I would say The Age of Adaline and The Shallows were two successful films that came out that people saw. If you don’t like her, you don’t have to click on the article. No one is forcing you to click on it and see her face. However given the fact that she is a successful actress that people follow, People Magazine will continue to publish articles about her. You don’t like it? Then don’t click.

@Sam Well said.

Can she act? I’ve seen her on Gossip Girl and OMG her character was painful to watch, awful acting and facial expressions, and I saw the Traveling Pants movie and thought she was awful there as well, she’s a bit older now so is she any better? also you can be in a movie that does well it doesn’t mean you’re the reason for it. Could be the other actors are picking up your slack and the plot is a good one.

I have saw her movies, she is kinda an average actress or maybe a little above.

You have to admire a pregnant Hollywood type that doesn’t find it necessary to wear skin tight clothing and high heels. (Yes, I’m calling you out, Kim K.)

Her last two movies were great. She stood alone in The Shallows and carried the movie well. She is a class act and I enjoy her interviews.

Omg!! @sam! Wtf are you so upset over that person’s comments??? They have just as much right to comment as you do. You are a tad too obsessed over this “celebrity” that you don’t even know!!! It’s creepy!!!

@sam this website overs loads articles everyday with articles on the kardashians and the majority of America can’t stand them. So, your argument that people keeps plugging this lady because of he appeal is a bunch of garbage.

You like her, great. Not everyone does. But no need to point out to you that ANYONE can comment regardless of if they are a fan or not.

@ Jamie, Commenting rude comments just because an article is posted would be more of a stalker creepy person than someone who speaks out against the rude comments. If you don’t care for someone why bother reading about them and taking the time to be rude. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to be rude. No wonder we have such bully children these days, when grown adults feel the need to attach someone, as you pointed out that we don’t even know. What people fail to understand is that Peoples is not reading the comments, they are counting the comments, more comments more news about those people. You don’t want to see them, don’t read don’t comment, easy.

@mistie are you serious? The first person posted a comment then Sam went on the attack. Sam had the bully mentality. If he or she disagreed with the first post, ignore it! Do not bring in bullying children into this fluff. Sam should not have mentioned that posters name..,that was bullying!

She looks good either with heels or without heels.
