The mother-son bond is real between Tess Holliday and her newborn Bowie Juniper.

The size-22 model shared a sweet photo a friend took of Holliday breastfeeding her 5-week-old baby boy.

“My friend @jackiedunnsmith snapped this photo of me breastfeeding Bowie today & it makes my heart swell #normalizebreastfeeding #bowiejuniper,” Holliday captioned the post on Instagram.

Holliday — already known for her body positive activism — is a vocal supporter of the Normalize Breastfeeding movement. She previously reposted another nursing photo from her fiancé Nick, who said she looked “really sexy” in the shot — though he says breastfeeding isn’t always like that.

“Sometimes it’s stressful and messy and nothing goes how you want it to,” Nick wrote. “But sometimes it’s bliss. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about feeding your child, wherever that may be, and for the women out there who can’t breastfeed, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about that either.”

A lot of people seemed to get upset that @tessholliday posted a photo hashtagged "#normalizebreastfeeding" which didn't actually feature the act of breastfeeding. So here you go. She actually looks really sexy here – but it isn't always like that. Sometimes it's stressful and messy and nothing goes how you want it to. But sometimes it's bliss. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about feeding your child, wherever that may be, and for the women out there who can't breastfeed, don't let anyone make you feel bad about that either. Edited to add: Finding a plus size mother (two groups robbed of all sexuality) with whom I am in a relationship "sexy" for being a good mum is not the same as objectifying strangers body parts in public.

Tess posted another photo of her family (minus her 10-year-old son Rylee) sleeping in bed together on Friday, along with an impassioned plea for reform following the police shootings over the past week.

After I took this photo I was hit with a wave of sadness. My heart is so heavy, it has been for quite sometime. I look at this photo of my boys, (one missing) & know that a lot of my friends live in fear that moments like this may be ripped them because of the color of their skin. As a white woman, I have no clue what that kind of fear feels like. All I can do is use my voice & platform to show solidarity against injustices & let my congressmen & women know we need reform. Non POC please stand up right now, stand up & fight for change. I think everyone is holding their family a little closer today 💔 #blacklivesmatter #Dallas (Edited to add: I'm actively blocking anyone who tries to derail this post with "all lives matter". THIS ISN'T ABOUT US, THIS IS ABOUT THE BLACK PEOPLE BEING MURDERED. WAKE UP.)

I agree melanie ugh i am all for breastfeeding but these women are looking for attention, that’s it. why do we need to see this? come on people, have some decorum and not everything (especially as special as bf your child) needs to be posted on social media. why do these women feel the need to do this? it’s normal, we get it, stop shoving it in our face! what’s NOT normal is all these women whipping out their breasts for their 15 min. smh

She’s a complete slob.

I’m kinda upset right now. I used to think breastfeeding was a beautiful thing but these pictures just changed my mind.

I was on the fence on public breastfeeding but I think these photos just knocked me right into Prudeville.

“The size-22 model shared a sweet photo a friend took of Holliday breastfeeding her TK-week-old baby boy.”

Question… how many weeks is “TK” equal to?

PLEASE make this go away!!!!!! I seriously DID NOT need to see that!!! These should be personal private moments between mother and child. STOP TAKING PICTURES for crying out loud!!! JUST STOP!!!!

Jen on

I’m not going to criticize her for her weight since I’m overweight myself. But she is getting a bit annoying and yes, those pics should be private. CBB is starting to feature her too much, like Chrissy Teigen and the Kardashians. Enough!

“… & [I] know that a lot of my friends live in fear that moments like [sleeping] may be ripped [from] them because of the color of their skin.” That’s right. Did you know that if you are black, there is a 25% chance you are going to die within the year due to either (a) a cop shooting you, or (b) being lynched by a white mob? And if this does happen to a black person, odds are that it’s going to happen while that person is sleeping.

More first world problems.
Will it be “successful” as the free the n’pple movement?

My eyes are burning and my stomach is churning!! Blahhhhh!!!

You all should be ashamed….had it been a size 2 model then it would beautiful? She is free to share any moment she cares to and as a mom……I see nothing vulgar or gross about this! #beautiful

SO desperate for attention …

@amber, yes! You are the only commenter I agree with ! I’ve never seen such nasty hate on a post about a conventionally “hot” woman breastfeeding. Clearly there is still a lot of progress to be made, not just for normalising breastfeeding but also for eradicating body shaming. You should all be ashamed, these comments are embarrassing. Women should be supporting each other not tearing each other down. SMH

Can we just address the fact that he said this she looks sexy here? First of all, barf. Secondly, you can’t cry about breasts being “sexualised” in advertising, then start to call breastfeeding sexy in the same breath.
Breastfeeding is never going to be normalised with shoving photos down 34233 photos on facebook aren’t going to make people who don’t want to see your tits suddenly OK with it.

These posts aren’t about “normalizing” breastfeeding, they are about pissing people off who dont want to ( and shouldn’t have to ) open up their news feeds to see it, and we all know it.

Angela and that's my opinion on

If you want to breast feed fine. Please cover up though. It is really rude and really disgusting to show your nipples to everyone. Kids and others don’t need or want to see it. I know you want the attention for some type of “movement” or a point to prove but you can cover up. It is really really nasty to show your nipples to everyone.

by the way you are not a size 22, you are a 28 easily. Please stop with that
