Luisana Lopilato on Filming Her American Debut While Pregnant with Son Elias: ‘It Was a Really Good Time in My Life’

There isn’t a single thing that comes between Luisana Lopilato and her family.

While the Argentinian actress has been hard at work in the last year filming her first American film Fair Market Value, her two sons — Noah, 2½, and Elias, 4 months — and musician husband Michael Bublé were by her side day in, day out.

“I was so happy to be having a baby and to be doing my first American movie,” Lopilato tells PEOPLE exclusively about having found out two weeks into filming that she was pregnant with her second child. “I couldn’t ask for more at the time. I had a beautiful and healthy pregnancy, and just being with my husband made me happy.”

She adds, “I’m not happy if I don’t have my family around, and, really, I can do both because I have a husband who supports me.”

Well, there should be a Most Supportive Husband in the World Award handed over to the four-time Grammy Award winner — because he’s just that.

“I told [Michael] I had to shoot a movie the next month and that I would be shooting 13 days, and he said he’d talk to his manager and they’d figure out 13 days he’s not working so he can come with me to set,” Lopilato says on how she and Bublé piece their schedule together. “That’s how we do it.”

Of returning the favor when Bublé’s career gets demanding, she continues, “I know next year Michael starts his tour, so I’m planning to work this year since he has more time off, and next year I’m planning to go on tour with him.”

One might think adding another baby to the mix with a 2-year-old would be tough, but Lopilato says it’s a piece of cake because “they just eat and sleep, eat and sleep.”

“It was crazy the first two weeks, but then it started to get easier and easier because we had everything we needed,” Lopilato says. “I think it’s gonna get difficult when he’s Noah’s age because he’s so active — he wants to run and play sports, and he talks so much. It’s going to be crazy when Noah is 4 and Elias is 2, but, for now, it’s pretty easy.”

She adds of the outpouring of outside support they receive from each other’s parents, “We get to have our families around and they’re helping, and everybody wants to hold the baby.”

Como puedo explicar esta foto!? No puedo!! Me derrito y me derrito cada día más por estos dos hombrecitos! ❤️❤️❤️

And by everybody wanting to hold baby Elias, she also means loving big brother Noah.

“He was a little bit jealous,” Lopilato says about Noah’s first impression on the newest addition.

“He’s a little kid — you need to be careful,” she continues. “Whatever he does to him he doesn’t do it purposely, so we need to be really alert.”

such beautiful children! And bilingual! What could be better!? First kid has most popular boy’s name in the U.S., so bummer there, but second kid has great name!
