Chrissy Teigen on John Legend’s Lullabies to Baby Luna: ‘Some of Them Are Pretty Questionable’

05/17/2016 at 05:30 PM ET

Her daughter Luna Simone turned just 4 weeks old Tuesday, and Chrissy Teigen is in the throes of being a new mom.

“It’s so crazy already,” she tells PEOPLE Now. “I feel really good. I have a ton of energy and it’s so different every day. Every little time you look at her, something’s crazy different.”

One of the biggest lessons she’s learned so far? “I think I’m becoming numb to the sound of crying now. The first time she cried, I was like, ‘Oh, what do we do? Everyone can hear us!’ And now I’m just like, ‘Hm, hm, hm’… I live right through it.”

But there’s actually something else Teigen has to live through when it comes to parenting Luna with husband John Legend: His apparently not-so-stellar lullabies.

“I gotta say though, if you could listen in, some of them are pretty questionable,” she jokes. “He doesn’t really know how to sing to babies … [The] bath time song wasn’t so good, I will say, last night. It was like, ‘You’re taking a bath time.’ Like, there was just no thought into it.”

But the Oscar- and Grammy-winning artist is finding his niche as a dad. “John does so much because actually, he feels so helpless in other ways. Obviously, he can’t nurse or do anything in that realm,” she explains, though he managed to share a photo of his wife and “burpface” baby to Instagram Wednesday.

“He dances with her and he’s a good, calming source. He loves the diaper change though because we had never changed diapers before so now it’s new and fun for us.”

And for the model, some of her learning experiences come from what happens when you try to get that perfect baby picture.

“It’s always scary wanting to get those photos, and [thinking] your phone is going to drop right next to the baby,” she reveals. “Sometimes I’m nursing her while I’m in hair and make-up and things can fall and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. My little baby!’ ”

But Teigen’s honesty about learning to be a mom hasn’t always been rewarded. “I knew mommy-shaming was a thing,” she said Tuesday morning on Good Morning America about her Twitter followers reaction to her and Legend going out on a date a week after her daughter’s birth. “But I didn’t think it would come from going to dinner.”

What happened to her? She looks so…..eeeeek! She looks really alarming! Sort of not human, as if it’s a distorted image? Out of symmetry? and what is that thing around her neck? As for “best lullabies,” uh, no, dorky interviewer. Billy Joel wrote the best one. But if you wanted better singers, there are many better ones than Mr. Stevens. Many. Rosemary Clooney sang to her children, Julie Andrews sang to her children, Michael Buble sang to his son, Beverly Sills sang even to her deaf child, Whitney Houston sang to Bobbi Kris, Pavarotti sang…..”All of Me” would send any infant to the cyanide.

When you open the door by shooting off your big mouth, the “shaming” will come. In other woods STFU.

She wasn’t shamed for going out to dinner. She was rightly criticized for dumping her kid off like a minute after the cord was cut. I don’t wanna hear any crap about working on a marriage. The baby was brand new. If you can’t wait more than a week to dump your kid off and go out, you don’t deserve to have the kid in the first place.

Nothing wrong going out for dinner for a short time, since they have nanny’s help and it’s only a short time.

Is there ever going to be a day where this woman isn’t in the media yammering on and on about what every other mother goes through? Geez, give it a rest will you please?

If this woman would quit informing the public every time she passes gas, people would leave her alone.

Yeah new mom problems …. being in hair and makeup and worrying about “stuff” falling on your baby! LMAO Now my new mom problem with a 4 week old baby was how to get myself and baby up and out the door clean and fed before a doctors appointment. I wasn’t sure if it was am or pm let alone worrying about hair and makeup. Now by 3 months we had it all figured out, but wow not at 4 weeks.

She looks like an open minded woman. Kudos to her!

I am sincerely mystified why this model and her somewhat obscure musician husband have had every moment of her pregnancy and the newborn’s life documented for the public. Why, just why?

After about the 493rd diaper change, the cuteness of it goes away.

In a world where we are desperate not to have our children bullied on the playgrounds, in schools etc…isn’t it amazing how easy and astonishingly vile and rude GROWN ADULTS can be when they hide their identities behind made up monikers and throw insults at strangers. You people better be ABSOLUTELY perfect in your own lives to dare to pass judgement on others. You should be ashamed of yourselves…but you wont be, because YOU are what’s wrong with the world.
It’s not a mom going out for an hour to have dinner.
It’s you.

Y’all are all a buncha bitter, judgy A-holes around here… grow up and get over yourselves

She is pals with the Kartrashians. Need we say more?

Chrissy's Face on

Chrissy you need to pick up a book on infant caring 101. Put s shirt on the baby he seems to be always half naked or shirtless in all his photo ops. Feed your baby first before you get your hair & face get done. You If you’re trying to copy Giselle who was photographed while nursing her baby at the salon you’ve failed miserably.
Get off social media with your baby if you want the shaming to stop. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out!
Enough already cuz it is becoming nauseating, you, your baby & hubby in our face on a daily basis

What the hell is wrong with everyone? Who the hell are any of YOU to judge ANYONE ELSE about ANYTHING?! Seriously. I cannot believe people who sit behind a computer screen and talk bad about people you don’t know. Insecure, jealous, whatever . . go to therapy and get a f’n grip. Unreal.

Listen to all of you self-righteous people. Who the hell are ANY OF YOU TO JUDGE ANYONE ELSE?! WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT SHE DOES???? Get a life or therapy. SMH. Unreal.

@Anonymous…..what a dumb statement. “Dumping her kid off…” Seriously!! The baby was home with her grandmother, that’s hardly dumping. So there’s a rule when you’re allowed to go out to dinner after having a baby? When my nieces and nephews were born, my mom and I encouraged my sisters to go out to dinner so we could stay with the baby for a couple of hours.

She is a cute girl, looks like John Legend.

I think she is an open minded person, say what she means, not like so many other phonies say what other people like to hear.
