Snooki on Being Judged as a Mom: ‘We’re Not All the Same, We Parent Different’

05/10/2016 at 02:45 PM ET

When you become a parent for the first time, diaper duty is only the beginning. The mom network itself, especially in the day and age of the internet, can be home to some even scarier waters to tread.

Someone who’s in the thick of this type of unsolicited “advice”? Dancing with the Stars contestant Ginger Zee, who just became a first-time mom to Adrian Benjamin, 4 months.

” ‘You’ve taken away this precious time with your child because you want to dance,’ ” the 35-year-old ABC chief meteorologist says on PEOPLE’s Mom Talk, recounting a comment she read online about her parenting.

“We’re not all the same — we do different things, we parent different,” says Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 28, whose children are 3½-year-old son Lorenzo Dominic and daughter Giovanna Marie, 19 months. “At the end of the day, we’re all moms, and we take care of our kids.”

But luckily for Zee, there’s no right or wrong way, according to the other celebrity moms in the room.

“What I’ve learned, and what I believe, is that there is no right. There’s just right for you,” adds Alysia Reiner, 45-year-old star of Orange Is the New Black and mom to daughter Livia Charles, 7. “There is no perfect … we all just want to feel like we’re doing it right, and we’re scared that we’re not.”

I agree. More people need to learn to SHUT UP and stop judging others! Everyone has different methods. Most of the over the top know it all freaks have kids that turn out the worst!!!

Critiquing parenting styles is nothing new. Breast vs. Formula, Working mom vs. SAHM and every other “mom” debate has been around for years. If one is confident in the decisions they make, people’s critiques simply won’t matter. Judgement certainly won’t go away. Focus on you, your family and your baby and nothing else will matter.

It really really just depends on the person. I was the kind of mom that just couldn’t concentrate at work and the daily “problems” at work just seemed so pointless. Like who cares if so-an-so came in 5 minutes late? When I was with my babies, I cared for them all day and couldn’t get enough. My sister on the other hand, was the kind of woman who felt empty at home and diaper changing seemed pointless. I think she would have been a terrible mom if she had stayed home. So yeah, no one type of parenting fits all.

Isn’t the right way to say it “We parent differently”? And about parenting, well different or not, if your kid becomes a criminal, a drunk or a brainless starlet for example, you did something wrong. I bet Kris Jenner also thinks she is not a crappy mother, just “parented differently”😀😀

I can’t believe that I am actually greeing with Snooki! You would think that all moms would be helpful and support each other, wrong! All the ones I have been around, criticize other moms, brag constantly about their own, talk crap about other kids, and never offer to help anyone. I just learned to do what works best or your OWN child. I stopped reading all the ” expert’s ” book or asking other moms for advice. Each child is different and no one knows them best, but you.

Every Mom certainly is different. At the end of the day, you have to look around you. Is your child well and happy, are you and you spouse/partner? That’s all that matters.

As for Miss Nicole, I’m impressed at how she’s cleaned up her act since becoming a Mother. I thought she would!

So true Snooki said as a Mom: ‘We’re Not All the Same, We Parent Different’!

People judge her base on watching her own reality TV instead of actually getting to know her. Motherhood really did change her, she’s not out partying everyday nor breaking the law. There’s no such thing as a perfect parent but having a baby is a blessing. Congrats to Snooki and don’t like these judgmental miserable people who think they’re perfect get to you.
