Ryan Gosling Talks Fatherhood: ‘I Never Knew Life Could Be This Great’

05/10/2016 at 09:25 AM ET

Congratulations to Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes! The actors welcomed another baby girl into their family recently and the proud papa couldn’t be happier about his role as dad.

“It sounds so clichéd, but I never knew that life could be this fun and this great,” Gosling tells PEOPLE of the joys of fatherhood in an interview alongside his Nice Guys costar Russell Crowe in the upcoming issue.

Gosling, 35, and Mendes, 42, welcomed Amada Lee Gosling at 8:03 a.m. on Friday, April 29, in Santa Monica, California. Amada joins big sister Esmeralda Amada, 20 months. Mendes revealed in 2014 that Amada was her grandmother’s name. “It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish,” she said.

Trolls, just quit. I have two middle school aged daughters. Are they always fun? No, but we still have plenty of fun mixed in with the not so fun moments. That is parenthood. I don’t think they are any less fun now than they were at 3…in fact, for the most part I find we can have MORE fun now.

RockyD, don’t you sort of think being so full of envy of someone just because they have more money than you do, is disgusting? Cause most of us think it is ridiculous! We don’t have a clue as to whether they have any nannies, a chef, or any outside help at all. Not every wealthy person chooses to have more than occasional help, and prefer to take care of their own children. We have no knowledge about their decisions, but even if they have 4 nannies, so what? That shouldn’t be a problem for anyone else…we don’t live their lifestyle or pay their bills.

Why do people always bash teenagers? I have 2 and LOVE this stage. Then again, boys are easier.
Seriously, if you raise decent children then you’ll have decent teens. I can honestly say that I love being with my boys. They’re polite, considerate, charitable, funny. I hope Ryan and Eva have my kind of teenagers as opposed to these other people.
