Tatyana Ali Talks Expecting Baby While Wedding Planning: ‘Things Will Fall Into Place’
And the former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star and her fiancé Dr. Vaughn Rasberry can’t help but “stare at each other, jaw-dropped.”
“It’s pretty amazing,” Ali, 37, tells PEOPLE. “There’s so much good. We feel so blessed. We’re just having fun enjoying our family and our friends and that’s what we want the wedding to be about — just have a good celebration.”
In the busiest, yet happiest, of times, Ali is not allowing herself to get wrapped up in the logistics of it all.
“Because I’m expecting, I can’t feel too stressed out,” she says. “I probably would’ve been, but I can’t take [the wedding planning] that seriously.”
She adds, “Things will fall into place. I have a great wedding coordinator. The stressed out part — I can leave that aside.”

As the couple await the arrival of their firstborn, they can’t help but brainstorm who their little person will be.
“We’re reading the books, imagining, dreaming out loud,” says Ali. “A lot of just wondering who this person is going to be, who this person is, and you don’t really know until they’re here. We’re ready for the adventure!”
Salad cravings?! It’s all but a dream for your average expectant mother.
“I’m a vegetarian,” she says. “First I was craving anything with salt and lately I just want salad.”
Ali is expanding her repertoire with her role in TV One’s original thriller Second Sight. “I’ve work with them before on Love That Girl, which was a total comedy. I’ve done drama, but this role was something new – I love trying something that’s a bit of a range for me.”
However, the subject matter was challenging for her, as in “every scene, there’s a child missing.”
“Someone’s baby has been abducted and that’s very heavy,” Ali says about the movie. “The entire time you’re filming, that’s just always there. That part is difficult — it’s a lot of fun, but I’m exhausted when I get home!”
Second Sight premieres Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on TV One.
