Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly Name Daughter Adora Borealis – See Her First Photo!

Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reillys permanent new houseguest sure is cute.

The Big Brother alums, who welcomed their first child last week, are revealing her name and first photo exclusively to PEOPLE.

Adora Borealis Villegas was born April 8 at the UCLA BirthPlace Westwood at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, weighing in at 6 lbs., 10 oz. and 19.5 inches long.

“She’s our perfect little angel!” the proud new parents tell PEOPLE.

As for their  unique name choice?

“We came up with the name Adora because we adore her, she’s ‘Adora-ble,’ and we wanted a Spanish name to celebrate her Hispanic heritage,” the couple says. “Borealis was Rachel’s must-have middle name because she’s always been infatuated with the natural beauty of the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. Of course Brendon loves the name because he is a physicist and science nerd! We love the name because Adora lights up our lives like the Borealis lights up the night sky.”

The couple first met in 2010 on the show’s twelfth season, before returning to the house for a second time the following year, when Reilly won. They later appeared as a couple on two seasons of The Amazing Race.

Villegas, 35, and Reilly, 30, said “I Do” in September 2012 atop the AT&T Center in downtown Los Angeles.

More like Aurora Borealis!!
That is the first thing that came to mind and it’s lame.
I like Adora but not with Borealis. Oh well….it’s not my kid.

I have always been in love with Labrador Retrievers but I didn’t name my kid that. I mean Adora would have been ok but a little girl with the name Borealis is harsh. But they didn’t name my kids so I have no right to name theirs. She is a beautiful baby who is blessed to having adoring parents.

“Adora” is fine but not when paired with “Borealis.” All I hear is “Aurora Borealis”! These people. Rachel is so vapid.

He is an actual physicist who named his daughter Adora. That makes 0.00% sense to me. I guess I attributed intellect to someone with that career. However, he married Rachel. That says it all. Good luck, A-DOR-UH! Ew.

I guess I don’t understand how people have 9 months to come up with something and then choose something pitiful and ugly like Adora. Really, that’s the best you got?! I don’t get it. That said, cute baby. She can change it later.

Rachel is Irish, Brendon is an Irish first name, the baby will have his Spanish last name, but they “wanted a Spanish name to celebrate her Hispanic heritage”?! Adora Borealis is a very wacky name—she will be teased relentlessly.

Dumbest name in a long while.

I always think of what the name will sound like as the baby grows into adulthood and goes out into the real working world….not a great choice but not my kid. She is cute

Congrats! Baby is beautiful and so is the name.

Adora is not a bad name, Adora Borealis is ridiculous though.

I thought she would have named her Reilly.

I find it so odd that parents give names to newborns in an “in the monent ” kind of way. They do not seem to comprehend that they are not naming an infant, they are really naming an adult. That cute , adorable infant will have many more years as an adult . So will Adora be so “adore” ble when she is in her 60″s? I undersatnd …sort of… parents wanting something unique for what they feel is the most perfect, unique child ever born but seriously, they should think about how the years beyond childhood.

That name….wow. I love an interesting name but Adora Borealis is too much even for me.

Zol on

I think Adora is a lovely name.

Jo on

Cheesy name, but still not as bad as Iyla Vue.

Belle, as a middle name would of made more sense I think.

Adora Belle, Not perfect but maybe more charming the Borealis!

I have one child, a girl named Addison. If I have another, I won’t name her Meredith, even tho, I like the name. It’s BS enough that my daughter shares her name with the antagonist from Saw II and the adulteress from “Grey’s Anatomy.”

I have to agree it should have been one or the other. Adora or Borelias Thankfully unless she becomes a infamous serial killer, society usually doesn’t include the middle name that often. Beautiful baby and so happy for them.

Interesting name!

Barbara Bavier on

Omg, Worst. Baby. Name. EVER. That poor kid.

Sharon on

Horrible middle name. But at least its not as bad as North West’s name I will give her that.

Amy on

Worst name EVER. I felt bad enough for the child having a mother like Rachel, but now she has to grow up with that ridiculous name. Brutal!

Common Sense on

Live birth, huh? Poor kid.
