Stephen Amell’s 2-Year-Old Daughter Is an ‘Avid Fan of Snapchat’

04/12/2016 at 12:55 PM ET

Stephen Amell‘s Arrow character is reeling from a death, but in real life Amell is celebrating happier times — like his daughter Mavi Alexandra Jean‘s half birthday.

“She’s going to be 2½ on April 15th, which is exciting,” Amell told PEOPLE at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards.

While Mavi may only be a toddler, she’s taken a liking to some very grown-up technology. “She is an avid fan of Snapchat,” Amell shares.

Amell’s daughter might not be experiencing the terrible twos, but she is going through a bit of a bossy phase.

“She’s going through a phase where she tells me very specifically exactly what I’m going to do, which is good for her,” the actor says.

When the father/daughter duo aren’t making social media posts, Amell, 34, “loves” to read to Mavi — but don’t expect to find his bedtime stories in a book.

“I’m telling her a special story right now before bedtime about a girl that runs so fast that her feet turn into wings. She likes that story a lot,” he says, adding, “I just made it up.”

As for whether Amell and his wife Cassandra Jean will be giving Mavi any siblings, Amell says, “Who knows? Time will tell.”
