Khloé Kardashian, North West and Penelope Disick Are Style Triplets in the Kardashians’ Signature Braids

04/05/2016 at 09:45 AM ET

You know what they say about great minds …

Khloé Kardashian shared a photo on Instagram Monday showing her, North West, 2½, and Penelope Disick, 3½, rocking matching braided ‘dos.

“Great minds…..” Kardashian, 31, captioned the sweet pic with her nieces. Hours later, she shared another photo with Penelope, captioning it, “I made her my mini me!!”

The Kardashian-Jenner crew is no stranger to the plaited look: Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner are especially avid fans of the simple hairstyle. Kardashian West recently shared on her livestream that she loves keeping her hair in two sleek braids because it “makes my face look skinny.”

I made her my mini me!! 👯

A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on

The adorable picture of Kardashian and the two cousins was posted shortly after the reality TV family revealed on their various Snapchat accounts that matriarch Kris Jenner was whisking them all away on a private plane for a target=”_blank”surprise family vacation.

“We’re on a secret journey because Kris Jenner won’t tell us,” Khloé said. “But as long as the sisters are together, we’re okay.”

French braids are cute on a little girl but Khloe looks ridiculous!

OK first of all French braids are not the Kardashian’s signature braids. Please don’t start spreading that around these scum bags will try to trade market and we will all have to pay these idiots every time we French braid our hair.

I do not hate this family like everyone else, but I do hate how Khloe always puckers her lips out like that. It is completely asinine.

Just saying.. on

Could someone please tell Khloe that she’s not black no matter how hard she tries to be.

Meza on

Looks like her lips were filled lips are out

Absolutely riveting journalism. The most hated family in America has a story about hair braiding. I’m dumber now having been a part of this zero story about a worthless family braiding their hair. Thank you People, I can put you on the list with E! online of sites no longer worth visiting.

Looks like chit.

There isn’t a single white person on this earth, dead or alive, that can claim cornrows as a “signature style”!!! Please stop!! I try to be objective but damn!!! This is an African style that has been our signature for thousands of years!! The only style any of them can claim is “low-class”!!

I realize the kardashians are a magnet for controversy but at this moment I’m very disappointed in the writer of this piece. What a great example of cultural appropriation. These braids are signature of African culture. And while I get that all cultures mix and burrow defining this look as “Kardashian” when every black grandma rocks this look day in and out is insulting, open your eyes and check yourself!

It seems French braids.

Marla on

How are “French braids” African culture? I am pretty sure French people will have an issue with that claim.

These ARE NOT french braids……….just like french fries are NOT French!! This style is called cornrows. ALWAYS has been. This IS an African hair style…..POINT BLANK!! Seriously can we get any credit for OUR cultural contributions to society!!!

Anon on

This style is actually a dutch braid pigtail. Cornrows pull hair into the braid differently.

I am not now, nor will I ever be, a Kardashian/Jenner fan. But the one good thing I see in that family is that Khloe really does seem to enjoy being an aunt. The children tend to look happier with her than they do anyone else in the family!
