Why Ashley Williams Wanted to Sit in Her Closet, Eat Pizza and Cry After Giving Birth

Is “me time” for new mothers a myth?

That’s what ESPN Sportscenter host Hannah Storm says in a new Mom Talk video, although she does try to find some ever-elusive personal time in the shower.

“It’s really hard for someone to burst in on you in the shower — although it can be done,” she says.

While Coco Austin reveals that she’ll get up early, shower and put on make-up, Ashley Williams can’t even wrap her mind around such a personal luxury.

Hannah Storm Coco Austin Ashley Williams Mom Talk

“Right after I had Gus, I had just been through 24 hours of labor, and then I suddenly started the biggest job of my life,” she says.

“I’m likening it to running five marathons in a row, taking a quick shower, then starting the biggest job I’ve ever had. I remember trying to figure out when I was going to process the birth because I had no time for that.”

What did Williams want to do to recover from the “five marathons” that is labor? Precisely what everyone does to process major life events: Eat pizza in the closet and cry.

I can’t feel sorry for these women. They have access to ANYTHING. Nannies, chefs (to cook their meals), personal trainers. This is just another case of celebs wanting to seem like normal women in today’s America.

I don’t know if this is testing the waters but this should be a real live talk show. I have never given birth nor been pregnant but I know a few things to look out for when I am, like my first poop after giving birth. This is like the giving birth myth-buster show and I think a lot of pregnant women will appreciate the honesty and diversity that these women bring to the couch. No 2 pregnancies or birth experiences are alike so it is good to have different stories.

Seriously? The showcasing is getting so old. Stop.

Never cared for Ashley, and have a reason still not to like her. Some women struggle to have child (like me), or deal with miscarriages or infant loss (like.. me!). Stop complaining, and going with what another user stated – don’t feel sorry for them when they have access to anything. Why not talk about something useful?

I can’t stand women who think they are the first woman to ever give birth. It’s been going on since the beginning of time! It’s all been discussed! Adapt and move on like every woman in the world and throughout time has done!

Not finding time to take care of yourself…seriously? Come complain to me when you’re a single parent and have to do it ALL.
