Your Kelly Clarkson-fueled tears aren’t over yet!

The singer followed up Thursday’s powerfully emotional performance of “Piece By Piece” on American Idol with an equally emotional interview with Ryan Seacrest on Monday.

While phoning in to On-Air with Ryan Seacrest, Clarkson opened up about husband Brandon Blackstock‘s incredible parenting skills.

“He’s such a great father,” she said. “Watching my husband love on his daughter all the time, go to her events and just be there and be present is hard to watch, but beautiful to watch. I know that my kids are going to have that.”

Clarkson, 33, didn’t have a great relationship with her own father. “Piece By Piece” tells the story of an absentee dad and the supportive husband who taught her how to love again.

“I don’t even think I understood the gravity of [my relationship with my father] until I was pregnant with [20-month-old daughter River Rose],” she told Seacrest. “I was like, ‘I cannot imagine not seeing this kid to his or her full potential and just seeing what she’s going to do, what she’s going to be like.’ ”

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house on Thursday when Clarkson, who is pregnant with her second child, performed “Piece By Piece” on the stage that kickstarted her career.

“I’m pregnant and it’s nostalgic and I can’t believe it’s the last season,” Clarkson, who’s expecting a son, said after the performance. “Yeah, really sorry I just bawled.”

I love this girl and so glad her life turned out as it did. Her daughter is adorable and sounds like she has a great husband. Her American Idol performance was so emotional. All the best to her and her family!

My dad became an alcoholic when I was 11 years old and walked out on us before I turned 13. I buried him last year after 10 years of severe alcoholism. My mom and I watched Kelly’s “piece by piece” performance and bawled our eyes out. I was never a super fan of her, but I now feel such a deep connection to our shared past. It’s heartbreaking seeing my friends with their families together, and I will likely never have a stable relationship with men again, but I’m so happy that not only am I not alone in this, but that you can over come it.

Kelly leaves it all out there. She is brutally honest, and an amazing talent, a great mom, and she is comfortable with who she is, and isn’t.
