Tess Holliday Expecting Second Child

01/27/2016 at 08:00 AM ET

There’s a baby on the way for Tess Holliday!

The plus-size model, 30, is expecting a child with her partner Nick in June.

“It definitely was not planned and I was a little nervous when I first found out, but I’m excited!” Holliday tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Holliday — who has a 10-year-old son Rylee from a previous relationship — says she is looking forward to having a newborn again.

“When I had my son, I was 20 and I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t have help. I’m really excited to be doing it again and have support, and be able to enjoy having a baby, because I couldn’t last time,” says Holliday, who just announced her new clothing line with Canadian retailer Penningtons.

And even though she’s done it all before, Holliday admits she’s a little scared.

“Anyone who is having another child, or even their first child, is lying if they’re saying they’re not nervous,” says the social media star. “I am worried about my ability to detach from work, and being able to focus on my family.”

“It’s [also] been 10 years since I had a kid, so there are so many things that are new,” she added. “My friends that have babies are posting all of these new swings and breastfeeding techniques and new bottles, and it’s really overwhelming because I thought, ‘I’ve already done all this,’ but it feels like I haven’t. I’m having to relearn a lot!”

While Holliday has not yet found out the sex of her baby on the way, Rylee is hoping for a boy.

“He was apprehensive at first, but he really wants a little brother,” she says. “We told him on Christmas. We got him a little present and we put the ultrasound in it. He’s excited!”

Nick is equally eager for the new addition to their family.

“I think it really solidifies the two halves of our family coming together,” he says. “It will be nice to have the family more blended.”

Congrats to them! A new baby is always a blessing.

She doesn’t sound very mature. “Anyone who says they aren’t nervous is lying?” Stay in your own yard, lady. New breastfeeding techniques? Not really, unless you count the debate on what is and is not considered appropriate in public.

Congratulations for her!

I`m excited for her clothing line, I really hope it isn`t the same as Melissa McCarthy`s who was just insanely expensive and not realistic to buy for the typical person. $110 is not reasonable for a sweater.

Congrats to her on the new addition!

I haven’t quite figured out how she is a “plus size model”….
1) She’s way beyond “plus” size … she’s in the morbidly obese category.
2) I’ve seen photos of her without makeup and photoshop and she’s nothing special.
3) I’m fairly certain excessive weight will put her in high risk pregnancy category. She’ll be monitored for a variety of health concerns being obese and pregnant.

C’mon people…. please don’t glorify or idolize folks that are grossly overweight. It’s not a healthy lifestyle. Models shouldn’t be stick thin to be beautiful either. Healthy bodies are what we need as role models not the two extremes.

Jesus that girl can give birth to a mack truck…..

Hey, Kisten. You can have your own (f*cked up) standards for whom you idolize and/or glorify. There are no rules for personal preference. In the meantime, how about applauding the fact that she (and others) have opened the door for those who don’t fit the cookie-cutter standards of what a model should look like. It’s a start. It’s a beginning. It will get even better. And who knows, maybe during the process you and other narrow-minded people will begin to see standards differently…maybe you will learn that you can idolize/glorify/resect whom YOU choose, and not what you think is the most popular by society.

I hope she gets her weight in check after she has the baby, because people often gain more weight with the second. You need lots of energy to take care of a newborn and run after toddlers, and there’s no way an obese person can do that.

I wonder if she ever straightened out those messes with the things people were allegedly preordering from her and never received? It was a huge story for like a day and then it seemed to completely disappear.

Maybe she’ll do a plus sized maternity line now.

Congratulations!

@steph – I agree about Melissa’s line. The pieces were overpriced. And it’s disappointing because I swore they were supposed to be “average priced.”

Looks like Nick got his anchor baby.

And no, the t-shirt bullshit was never fully resolved. She committed charity fraud.

Hostile there much Kathleen? Maybe try some chamomile tea? Breathe in, breathe out.

@WhoCares, I couldn’t have said it better myself!!

Sorry I completely agree with@WhoCares. It’s nice she’s having a baby, I love babies , but honestly and truly nothing about living a life of obesity should be glorified in anyway. Sure eat want you want, be plump even, but he healthy. Too skinny= unhealthy, too big= unhealthy. We shame smokers, drug users and alcoholics don’t we? I’m not saying we should “Shame anyone for being obese, but if you are going to put them in the spot light and praise them for their “beauty” then let’s praise the smokers and alcoholics for their wrinkles, tar stained fingers and liver damage! It’s all the same, life threatening addictions should not be taken lightly and certainly not praised.

ewww u mean he actually hits that? how does he even get in thurrr

I AGREE WITH KISTEN. THIS TESS HOLLIDAY IS GLORIFIED OBESITY WHICH IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE FATTEST COUNTRY IN AMERICA NEEDS. HER PREGNANCY WILL LEAD TO MORE HEALTH ISSUES.

Annie Coates on

If being pregnant at the most obese weight isn’t a warning sign I would guess it’s when she has a stroke or heart attack. The people saying she is not promoting an obese lifestyle then ridiculously saying she is an inspiration are delusional. She is really an awful person inside and out, I wish her no ill will especially as there will be another child born to her and her failing husband who probably only sees this as a way to get permenant residency here in the USA. Most of all I feel truly sorry for her son and her upcoming child. A life of being frighteningly obese, an embezzler and all around nasty person for a mother.

Wow, its incredible to me how people reffer to others in such an ill manner. When have we become a world that trats pets better that other human beings.
1. If you don’t agree with her life choices, its ok, but don’t shove to everyone what you think is “right”, “healthy” or “beauty” it only shows your lack of intelligence and insecurities.
2. That you are allowed to post anything hiding behind the anonymity cloak that is the internet doesn’t mean you should. At the end of the day it does not make you superior, important or relevant. So if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything. You just look….. pathetic and uneducated.
3. Even if its not your beauty standard, all shapes and sizes need to feel beautiful, respected and left the f$$$ alone. At the end of the day we are all the same regardless of what we weight.
Anyhow, congrats Tess and Nick.

I can be tolerant to many. What I don’t like is that America has a HUGE (no pun intended) obesity problem and it’s getting worse. Because of obesity more and more medical care is needed. It’s not made up facts in my mind.. it’s proven science. Strokes, metabolic disorders, cancer all are multiplied when you are a hundred plus pounds overweight. Why should I care, you ask? Because it affects my medical costs, my insurance rates, etc. and it trickles down from there. I’m sorry but seeing her pose in lingerie is just disgusting – not because she’s fat, because her body at age 30 isn’t designed to be that big at 5’5″.

KL on

She is very pretty but excuse me.. “plus size” model??? Sorry she is just overweight! NOT a healthy body image to look up to what-so-ever……..

SaraBeth on

Good lord…how much must she eat each day to stay that massive? I understand the whole “body positive” movement, but she cannot be healthy.

Ashley27 on

I give her 2 years, and she’ll be getting gastric bypass. Suddenly, the whole ‘I love my body’ line will change. Get out and exercise, fatty.

NonYa on

Congratulations beautiful! And screw all the haters. Jealousy gets you no where fatty haters.

Xia on

She looks amazing even though her size is plus.

Erin on

To those that think being morbidly obese is a lifestyle choice, and that we should all mind our own business, have you taken into account the increased healthcare costs we all pay because of those personal choices? Obesity has surpassed smoking in terms of ill health effects, including death. She is a beautiful woman, but those aren’t “curves”.

It’s wonderful that people get pregnant. Too bad this case is life threatening to the baby.
