DeAnna Pappas Stagliano’s Blog: The Struggle (of a Second Pregnancy) Is Real

01/18/2016 at 07:30 PM ET

Please welcome back DeAnna Pappas Stagliano!

The real estate agent and Bachelor alum, 34, was one of two finalists on Brad Womack‘s first season before headlining The Bachelorette, where she chose Jesse Csincsak.

Although the engagement didn’t work out, she met Stephen Stagliano through his twin brother Michael, who was a contestant on Jillian Harris‘ season.

After getting engaged in 2010, Pappas and Stagliano tied the knot in October 2011 in Georgia.

In 2013, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child. Born Feb. 6, 2014, daughter Addison Marie is now 23 months old. In August, the couple announced that they are expecting their second child, a son, due Feb. 26, 2016.

Countdown mode: I’m 34 weeks pregnant today and feeling it!

I have been counting down for this birth since the early weeks of finding out that I was pregnant. Sadly, this pregnancy has been much harder than when I was pregnant with Addison. My hormones are crazy this time around.

I’m feeling much like Lace on this season of The Bachelor. Moody, quick to anger, needy for Stephen’s attention, crying at the drop of a hat. Do I sound like one of the ladies on The Bachelor to you?! Crazy emotions like I am rewinding my life by a few seasons!

Hopefully, Ben Higgins will have as much grace and patience as my dear husband. I think he has the potential to be a great Bachelor with some great choices. Did they circle the U.S. and choose the most beautiful women they could find or what?! So many gorgeous ladies on one season. Hopefully, they are as beautiful on the inside … with a few crazies thrown in for our enjoyment!

What is it about the second pregnancy? We have not done a single thing. I am due in six weeks and we still have not changed the spare room into a nursery, we have barely ordered furniture and we have yet to name him.

I have some boy clothes set aside, unwashed and still in bags. One or two baby things have trickled in, which gets me excited, but it seems like I am in no hurry to set up.

When I was pregnant with Addison, I was so prepared. Her room was set up months in advance, clothes washed and hung up, toys on display, not to mention she was named before she was even conceived!

Maybe I underestimated how hard it can be to be pregnant with a toddler?! Any parents out there understand what I’m going through?

More from DeAnna’s PEOPLE.com blog series:

We have our routine with Addison: wake up, breakfast, play time, lunch, her nap time, my nap time, play time, dinner, bath and bed. Somewhere in there I manage to squeeze in gymnastics, errands, work, making dinner, and paying the bills.

I am simply exhausted by the end of the day and can barely stay awake past 8:30 p.m. Who feels me?!

I cannot wait to snuggle this little unnamed baby Stag boy. Addison has become quite the busy almost 2 year old who doesn’t have much time for Mommy’s snuggles anymore.

Although it is so fun watching her grow into her own and experience her outgoing personality, I miss the days of cuddling her when she needed me so much.

I am excited to experience the newborn snuggles again, breastfeeding, babywearing, first baths, tiny smiles and the new life we are bringing into the world.

Even though this pregnancy has been tough on me, I know we are so blessed to be having another child to love.

What was your favorite part about being pregnant?

DeAnna, Congratulations, you have almost made it through. Take a moment and appreciate your son rumbling inside of you. It is truly an amazing sensation that only a mother can know. Enjoy it!

I feel you. I’m 33 weeks with a 17 month old. Now imagine everything you are feeling and add…..wait for it…..a full time job. So daycare food and clothing pack ups at 6am every morning. Could be worse. Be grateful you have play time and nap time daily.

I feel you DeAnna! I was a full time teacher, pregnant with twins and had a 1.5 year old at home. I honestly don’t know I woke up each day. Just remember it’s almost over and your newest bundle of joy will be here soon.

I absolutely LOVE her honesty!! We don’t see that very often from celebrities. It’s usually ALL about how perfect & amazing everything is, with a perfect nursery & post-baby bod to follow! I can relate….I have 4 beautiful kids, & just carried a 5th for my best friend, & that was the most difficult on my body!! My pregnancies were great & I loved almost all of it, & this last one was ROUGH but a beautiful little angel came into the world, so it’s all worth it!! They seem like such a great family & everything will turn out great!! Not perfect though….that would be boring!!: )

I can relate. They always say oh pregnancy is so amazing you glow. Bs! I was so tired and moody and depressed. I literally could not do anything. Never again

My favorite part was feeling my two boys move around and hiccups were always entertaining!

Looking forward to getting past the constant nausea and enjoying the flutters in the coming months:)

You look absolutely beautiful!

Oh yes my 2nd pregnancy was different in every aspect too. I was a hot emotional mess, I still had a baby I was taking care of (my boys are 17 mo apart) and we waited until the last minute to finish everything too. You are not alone!!

I would recommend washing some of his clothes and getting a bed set up for him (he may decide to come early), other than that the rest can wait. Speaking of “rest”, rest now! Rest as much as you can, rest for me too if you can. ; ) I didn’t realize how crazy life would get with 2 under 2 but oh my gaga it is crazy.

The good news is it does get better, while still hard I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s hard to remind yourself that you won’t be wiping 2 butts for the next 18 years b/c it sometimes feels like you will wipe butts forever.

Diapers and wipes out the wazoo, bottles and pump parts, never ending wash, endless tears (sometimes from the parents out of exhaustion and frustration) but sooooo worth it in the end when they wrap their arms around you and hug you.

Enjoy these last few weeks as a family of 3!

P.S. if you need a boy name my 1st boy’s name is Kyan (pronounced like Ryan but with a K) and it means little King. :) Best of luck!

I feel you DeAnna. I had same experience when my boy was before 2 years old, and I had to work at day time. I felt tired all the time. But at end it all worth it. My boy tuned to be a wonderful little guy.

Stop whining! I buried my baby a few weeks ago! Be thankful for every tear, sleepless night, diaper change, and tantrum!!

I had a reticence the second time around…and a tougher pregnancy. I know in retrospect my lack of preparedness was last minute guilt that I was changing my firstborn’s life forever with the birth of my second child…fast forward to 30 years later, as a mother of four, we are a hilariously fun and happy family… a boys name??
SAWYER…is great name.. and Sawyer Stagliano has nice alliteration to it! You will be fine. It will be crazy for the first 6mos and delightful chaos for the next 3yrs, but revel in every minute. Time goes SO fast!
