He may have taken home second place on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, but Nick Carter isn’t putting away his dancing shoes any time soon.

The “I Will Wait” singer is heading out on a two-month solo tour in February and will be touring with the Backstreet Boys later next year.

Oh. And in between all that, he’s going to become a father!

“I’m taking a couple of well-needed months off to be with my wife and really cater to her in this time,” Carter, 35, told PEOPLE after the DWTS finale on Tuesday.

“And then, in April, we’re going to take a little time off there as well for when the baby comes.”

Carter and wife Lauren announced they were expecting on DWTS in October and found out live during the show that they’re set to welcome a son.

“My wife really wanted a boy, so I’m just happy it turned out that way,” Carter told PEOPLE of the reveal last month. “But we would have been happy either way,” shares Carter.

Added his wife: “We just wanted a healthy baby, but preferably a healthy baby boy.”

I did not know who Nick Carter was before DWTS. That’s because I have not watched TV in years (except for when I see it while visiting at someone’s house who is watching which is also rare.) But a friend told me he was watching DWTS and since I have been learning to dance for the past 4 years, I turned it on. I was very impressed with this talented and gracious man. I wish him and his wife blessings and joy. Nick, you have a great voice and you were fun to watch dance too. May you always be a wonderful husband and dad as well. YAY to you.

He did great on DWTS, has a good voice and improved his dance move dramatically every week. I definitely enjoyed watching him on DWTS.
