It’ll Be a Boy for Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley

Baby boy on the way for JWoww!

The former Jersey Shore star, née Jenni Farley, announced Friday that she and husband Roger Mathews are expecting a son in May.

“Roger and I have said from the beginning that, just like it was with [15-month-old daughter] Meilani, it does not matter which [sex] our baby is, as long as he or she is healthy,” Farley wrote on her website.

“Still, we are so excited to be expecting a baby BOY! It’s amazing knowing that we are having one of each, just like Nicole [“Snooki” Polizzi]. I’ve always said I wanted a boy. I think there is something to be said about a mother-and-son bond.”

She continues, “I can’t wait for us to meet him and I know Meilani’s going to be an awesome, protective big sister. I’m so happy they’re going to grow up close in age and now the countdown really begins! May 2016, a mini Roger is coming! Get ready, world,” she joked, captioning cake photos from their gender reveal party.

“Thank you everyone for all your kind words and love for our growing family, we appreciate it so much!”

Farley, 29, and Mathews, 40, met during the filming of the MTV reality show, and were engaged in September 2012. On Oct. 18, they were married in New Jersey in front of family and friends, including castmates Snooki and Pauly D, and announced the pregnancy at the wedding reception.

“Roger and I both cried when we saw the announcement. This was one of the best days of our life,” she said at the time.

IMO, having a party to find out the gender of the baby is CHEESY, SELF-IMPORTANT, and OFF-PUTTING. Talk about “look at me, look at me, look at me!” Who cares either way? A healthy baby is the real gift.

Isn’t it really early to know the sex already if she is due in May??

Kim on

You can find out the sex in the first trimester now through genetic testing.

Does everything have to be a huge production, literally? Look at all the camera tripods in the background?

I had my son in May. I wasn’t even telling anyone I was pregnant yet at this time, let alone having a gender reveal party (not that I would ever do that anyway) in front of an entire camera crew. Why won’t these people just lay low?

@Jennifer I totally agree with you.

I’m due the first week of May and haven’t even announced it to anyone yet lol.

She’s not due for 7 months, how does she know it’s a boy???

I think a SEX reveal party is cute when it also doubles as a baby shower way later on in pregnancy. I have never had a baby, nor been pregnant, we’ve been trying though!, but I personally would love to find out at birth and just have everything bright and neutral regardless if I have a shower or not.

My best friend didn’t have a party but they took a cute “gender reveal” picture as a keepsake and an announcement photo. He’s my Godson, so ofc I kept a copy lol

Yay glad she has what she preferred a boy, now they’re having a boy and a girl, perfect family.
