Oh Baby Bump, Where Are You? Chrissy Teigen Covers Pregnancy Belly in Loose-Fitting Top at Vogue Event

10/21/2015 at 11:15 AM ET

Chrissy Teigen‘s famed baby bump was virtually invisible on Tuesday as she stepped out at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show and Tea at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California.

The mom-to-be’s loose-fitting top is to blame for the missing bump as Teigen donned the flowy, off-the-shoulder blouse along with bell bottom pants and a black sash around her waist.

The model took to Instagram on Oct. 12 to announce that she and husband John Legend are expecting their first child.

Less than a week after the announcement, the 29-year-old model uploaded a photo of her baby bump to Instagram. The snap caused an onslaught of body-shamers criticizing the model for her belly.

The ordeal led Teigen to swear off tweeting about her journey to motherhood.

Although Teigen’s baby bump didn’t make an appearance at the Vogue soirèe, her husband was in tow. Legend smiled sweetly as he posed next to his wife, wearing a blue suit and brown shoes.

The soul singer shared an adorable snap of him and his lady on Instagram, including the caption “Daytime date time.”

So you want a baby and finally are pregnant- only to spend all your time trying to hide it! I don’t get these celebrities! SO scared to look fat.

Jessy on

I hope the baby will have her nose. She’s so beautiful.

Maybe she has a personal history of an eating disorder? It’s not so cut and dry as what you said….the changes to your body are extremely hard for some people for many many reasons….it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want her baby.
Have some damn compassion.

Chrissy looks amazing and I hope she continues to. Her Stylist is doing a fab job of outfitting her. These women are celebs and you can’t compare them to the average working Mom. They have glam teams, we don’t. It’s their JOB to look beautiful. If they didn’t, people would be there to criticize that too. How do people click on an article, just to say something wicked. If you don’t like them, don’t read it! Keep wowing the lovers Chrissy!!!

Sally, maybe get s clue. She proudly showed her belly last week and got bombarded by haters saying she looked too big too early. Now haters, like yourself, throw shade, accusing her of not wanting to look fat. Truth is, women can’t win, because of women like yourself who are beyotches.

She showed her baby bump and got a rash of fat shaming. I don’t blame her for wearing whatever makes her comfortable and shields her from public vitriol Be real people, no body is perfect no matter how famous or rich.

She looks great. So glowy. Too bad the trolls scared her off social media. Her journey would have been a hoot to see documented. People are so callous on the Internet so celebrities have to protect themselves. This is too good of a moment for her to have mean people ruin it. And by mean, I mean mostly jealous.

I hope she knows how beautiful she is especially now that she is pregnant.

she doesn’t yet have a bump

It’s a shame that she allows mean people to make her hide her joy. She’s beautiful and should be proud to show her bump.

Tonja on

What bump? She doesn’t even look pregnant

Guest on

She is beautiful, but she is not showing in the least bit. I don’t think it is the clothes. She just doesn’t look pregnant,

ImALadyToo on

“Bump” should be banned when referring to a pregnancy. How juvenile. It is a baby, not a bump.

KaliGurl on

She actually did post pics of her bump and people body shamed her, so she is not doing it anymore.

Molly on

Doesn’t look like she has a bump at all.

Pregnancy is proof that our bodies were never meant to look perfect. Your body changes in ways that aren’t pretty in order to successfully carry and birth a child. Just embrace what the sacrifice entails – or don’t get pregnant in the first place.

I hate when people make comments about weight at all judging women or men. People have issues stress medical issues pregnancy etc that cause you to lose weight or gain it. I eat healthy exercise every day and drink more than recommended amount of water and can not lose a pound. I have medical issues that cause me not to lose weight and medicine I am actually on make you put on weight. I am thankful I have support of friends and family love me no matter what size I am. This world would be a better place if we all support each other instead of judging each other.
