Jessica Biel Starts Son Silas on Solids: ‘It’s Been a Little Traditional’

09/15/2015 at 11:30 AM ET

Jessica Biel is opening Au Fudge, a kid-friendly restaurant in Los Angeles later this year — and the timing couldn’t be better.

“We want to have a place where I want to bring my kids, or I want to bring my girlfriends,” Biel told PEOPLE Sunday at the Amazon Video’s Tumble Leaf event, hosted by Au Fudge.

And now that Biel is a mom to 5-month-old Silas Randall, her son with husband Justin Timberlake, “I have some good ideas about the foods that I want to put in my body and my family’s body. The menu is not just kiddie food!”

Biel, who has partnered with Estee Stanley, Kimberly Muller and Monica Weinberg on the venture, could even soon be testing out recipes on her little one.

“He has been starting some avocado and squash,” Biel, 33, says. “I haven’t been doing any wild combinations yet. It’s been a little traditional.”

Traditional, maybe, but not boring. “He is doing great,” Biel says. “It’s been fun!”

#1 WHY the hell is this a story??
#2 Most doctors advise to not start solids until at least 6 months, longer if possible in order not to trigger allergies.

#1-I think it’s a sweet story, chances are it was one question/comment from an entire interview.
#2-I would imagine she has her doctor’s approval before starting solids. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about Silas.

He is so adorable!! I think he got the perfect mix of Justin and Jessica! He got his daddy’s eyes and his mommas famous lips for sure!!!

Not true. Current guidance is 4-6 months. AAP prefers 6 months, but the allergy theory may be outdated (see: recent discovery that the AAP advice to hold of on introducing peanuts has actually created peanut allergies).

Waiting 4-6 months to give a baby food is ridiculous. I gave all 7 of mine cereal at 6wks. and food at 8wks. and they didn’t have a single issue with it.

His name is terrible … Silas Randal . Awful .

The name has meaning for them and what matters is that it’s important to them.
