All the Details on the Newborn Princess’ Sweet Shawl

05/02/2015 at 02:45 PM ET

It’s the new princess’s first headline-making accessory.

Twenty-one months after welcoming their son, Prince GeorgePrince William and Princess Kate stood on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday to introduce their second child to the world.

And as the new mama stunned in another Jenny Packham dress — the same designer she wore while leaving the hospital with her firstborn — her baby girl carried on her own tradition.

While sleeping soundly in Kate’s arms, the couple’s newborn daughter wore a sweet bonnet with a white knitted blanket draped over her.

As it turns out, the shawl, from GH Hurt and Son Ltd., has a special meaning for the couple: Not only did big brother George sport a similar one during his own debut, but the company has presented several to the royal family over the years, including one to Prince William when he was a baby.

Our family has used the same blanket as we call it here in the USA to bring our baby home in for almost 25 years now!

She is adorable! I’m hoping they release an official family photo in a few weeks as they did with George. I want to see little Charlotte (my prediction for her name- seriously, she just LOOKS like a Charlotte!) with her big brother! 🙂

So her royal highness is indeed Charlotte! I can’t believe I actually guessed that correctly!

So the name is honoring her grandfather, great grand mother and Diana.
