Like father, like son!

Carrie Underwood introduced her newborn baby boy on Instagram with an adorable photo of Isaiah Michael cuddled up with a miniature hockey stick.

“The Predators are in the playoffs! Just waiting to get called up! #PutMeInCoach,” the country singer captioned the shot, which shows the month-old tot asleep with the Predators stick in hand and skates on his feet — a sweet ode to husband Mike Fisher‘s hockey team, who play the Calgary Flames late Sunday afternoon.

The “Blown Away” songstress, 32, and Fisher, 34, welcomed their first child on Feb. 27.

“We’re definitely blessed to have him join us in our lives. There’s no better feeling,” the NHL athlete said about fatherhood earlier this month.

And the stylish mama was also eagerly awaiting her son’s arrival and ready to embrace motherhood.

“It really is such a miracle and such a beautiful thing,” the Grammy winner told PEOPLE in February.

But even though she considered her pregnancy a really “beautiful” process, Underwood is ready to take back control of her post-baby figure.

“I’m looking forward to reclaiming my body,” she said. “I’ve been saying it’s been on loan for the past many months. I’m excited to take it back!”

cutest little baby – so sweet!

ABC’s of Hockey Kaye sorry, Anybody BUT Calgary..Extremely disliked Theo Fleury when he played and Lani Macdonald too off ice. Iginla is amazing though when he was there. I used to cheer for Edmonton back in the day, then Detroit..now I am a hockey widow, don’t bother with the huge changes Bettman made, pansy sport now in comparison imo.

OMG, what an adorable picture! Isaiah is just a sweetheart, such a cutie!

kay on

He’s a cutie. Thank you to the writer for actually including dad in on the headline, and not just “Carrie Underwood and husband”

He is adorable, Carrie! God bless that child! He is a blessing for sure! 🙂

DaisyMoon on

Absolutely adorable, but he looks like he’s wrapped in first-aid gauze…

Beautiful baby to a lovely couple. Love the biblical name Isaiah

karen on

Such a cute way to make their first announcement! Gorgeous baby.

Em on

Awww, he is so precious!!

Geez what’s with the 30 people who clocked the sad face or the 15 people who are mad? It’s a beautiful baby with loving, caring, married parents. Why be grumpy for them? Be happy people!

Summer on

Very cute baby! I’m sad that People once again made sure to put something about the mother’s body in the article. Why was that even necessary? An adorable new baby is news enough!

kaye on

@CindyAnn – It’s Lanny. BTW I’m at the Saddledome. Go Flames!!!!

kaye on

@Cindyanne – are you a Leafs fan?? If so, my condolences. Watching the Flames right now. LOL other poster are you really at the Saddledome?

Julesy on

OMG, that is simply the most adorable baby pic ever with the hockey stick. lol

Summer: They were quoting something Carrie herself said about her body during their interview with her….big deal. Get over it. That said, he’s a beautiful baby but the first name not so much.

What a cute, cuddly bundle!!

Yes, Neb1997, I possess reading comprehension and realize that she said that herself. My point was that this author chose to put that in this short article. Why? Why not just talk about her beautiful new baby boy and be done with it? You’d be hard-pressed to find an article on here about a new mom that doesn’t also reference getting her pre-baby body back.

Mary on

Must be my computer, I can only see the top part of the baby’s head. Bet he is cutie.

It’s nice to see a ‘normal’ celebrity family. It’s increasingly rare now.

Please shave. You look like a homeless person.

Sweet baby, but photographers are using the same props nowadays! Gauzy wrap and big furry rugs. Time for a change!

He is so adorable. And the way he has his hand up to his ear, like he’s holding a phone!!

Aww! What a cutie pie!

go vancouver…

@Kaye (The one at the Saddledome). I call BS on you’re being there watching the Flames. They played in Nashville today. The Hitmen are playing at the Dome tonight. I too am a Flames fan since 1980, but don’t try and say you were at the Dome watching them when the Hitmen are playing at 4pm MST; while Calgary was still playing in Nashville. I watched the game on Sportsnet.

nope on

That is a good name for a child, Isiah Michael Fisher.

kaye on

@Tammi, okay you got me, but I did see a flurry of Flames fans crossing Macleod Trail over to the Saddledome and assumed the game was there — everyone was decked out in Flames Jerseys. I wish I could get tickets, but the good ones go to the oil & gas big wigs!

kaye on

5-2 Flames

Babies are such a beautiful way to start people.

He’s adorable! The way he’s got his hand by his ear makes him look like he’s ready to join his mom in a song!
He’s a lucky little dude to have such great parents! 🙂

Summer- I think it was precisely BECAUSE the article was short that they added it. They tend to pad articles with little to no new information with recent quotes from one or both of the parents (or sometimes a grandparent or other family member).

Anyway, he’s adorable (not like we expected anything less, right? ;)). And, I, for one, love the furry rug’/blanket/whatever he’s lying on. Of course, it DOES remind me of my childhood and my beloved “lambie”, so I might be just a BIT biased. 😉

Happy for showing this wonderful picture.
Many Blessings !!!!!!

No clue if she’s breastfeeding, but if so…I hate to break it to her but your body will not be your own. For a while. My baby is 5 months old and some days I feel like I exist to feed her. And that’s ok 🙂 my husband might disagree, though! motherhood is about sacrifice; body, mind and soul!

charlotte on

Absolutely precious! So happy for her and her husband that they have a beautiful son to love.
