Molly Sims: Why I’m Already Worrying About a Second Child
He will soon be a big brother, but Molly Sims‘s son Brooks Alan still isn’t quite sure where babies come from.
“Someone sent me this box with a swing in it, it’s really really cute, and there’s a picture of a baby in the swing on the box,” Sims, who is five months along with her second child, told PEOPLE at the Annie for Target collection launch Tuesday night.
“Someone was over and asking Brooks, ‘Are you excited about Mama’s baby?’ and he goes, ‘Mama’s baby’s right there!’ He thinks it’s the baby in the swing.”
In terms of filling 2-year-old Brooks in on what’s to come, “we’re really not there yet, but I’m excited, I think we’re gonna start to get a baby doll and bring it home and name it,” the 41-year-old shares.
Sims, who recently told PEOPLE that she would love to have a daughter, is already thinking about how Brooks is going to react to the changes.
“I’ve already started worrying like, ‘Oh my God, what’s he gonna do when I’m in the hospital?’ It’s weird,” she says. “Then you’re like, can I love him as much as I love him or her? Those weird thoughts come, when you didn’t even think two years ago you could love something this much.”
While Brooks may not understand exactly what’s going on yet, Sims knew what was happening with her body right away. “I walked into my doctor and I had a full cup of ginger ale — my new best friend — and I was like to my doctor, ‘Mama is pregnant or something is majorly wrong,’ ” she recalls. “I was sick a week before I even knew I was.”
And she shared the news with her husband as soon as she knew it was official. “So he came home that night and I surprised him — he was very shocked. And then I think I almost threw up on him, like, ‘Here’s the proof!’ ” Sims jokes of the big reveal to producer husband Scott Stuber.
After putting together strict criteria for their firstborn’s name, Stuber is back in the throes of researching the perfect moniker for their second child.
“My husband on the first round was addicted to this app called Nameberry. It’s a crazy app and he actually made me a PowerPoint presentation on the different names,” Sims explains. “So he went to Nameberry about a week ago and he’s like, ‘It’s a whole new app!’ They’ve re-done Nameberry! So we started looking.”
But she’s not throwing out any of their ideas from the first pregnancy just yet! “I have the old PowerPoint and I laminated it because it was so freaking sweet, but weird and anal and awesome,” she says.
