Molly Sims: Why I’m Already Worrying About a Second Child

11/07/2014 at 01:30 PM ET

He will soon be a big brother, but Molly Sims‘s son Brooks Alan still isn’t quite sure where babies come from.

“Someone sent me this box with a swing in it, it’s really really cute, and there’s a picture of a baby in the swing on the box,” Sims, who is five months along with her second child, told PEOPLE at the Annie for Target collection launch Tuesday night.

“Someone was over and asking Brooks, ‘Are you excited about Mama’s baby?’ and he goes, ‘Mama’s baby’s right there!’ He thinks it’s the baby in the swing.”

In terms of filling 2-year-old Brooks in on what’s to come, “we’re really not there yet, but I’m excited, I think we’re gonna start to get a baby doll and bring it home and name it,” the 41-year-old shares.

Sims, who recently told PEOPLE that she would love to have a daughter, is already thinking about how Brooks is going to react to the changes.

“I’ve already started worrying like, ‘Oh my God, what’s he gonna do when I’m in the hospital?’ It’s weird,” she says. “Then you’re like, can I love him as much as I love him or her? Those weird thoughts come, when you didn’t even think two years ago you could love something this much.”

While Brooks may not understand exactly what’s going on yet, Sims knew what was happening with her body right away. “I walked into my doctor and I had a full cup of ginger ale — my new best friend — and I was like to my doctor, ‘Mama is pregnant or something is majorly wrong,’ ” she recalls. “I was sick a week before I even knew I was.”

And she shared the news with her husband as soon as she knew it was official. “So he came home that night and I surprised him — he was very shocked. And then I think I almost threw up on him, like, ‘Here’s the proof!’ ” Sims jokes of the big reveal to producer husband Scott Stuber.

After putting together strict criteria for their firstborn’s name, Stuber is back in the throes of researching the perfect moniker for their second child.

“My husband on the first round was addicted to this app called Nameberry. It’s a crazy app and he actually made me a PowerPoint presentation on the different names,” Sims explains. “So he went to Nameberry about a week ago and he’s like, ‘It’s a whole new app!’ They’ve re-done Nameberry! So we started looking.”

But she’s not throwing out any of their ideas from the first pregnancy just yet! “I have the old PowerPoint and I laminated it because it was so freaking sweet, but weird and anal and awesome,” she says.

Celebrities become even more annoying when they become pregnant. A laminated PowerPoint? Good grief.

Sounds like someone is advertising for the nameberry app. Lol. Congrats to her on baby number 2, though. Babies are such a blessing!

Vapid.

What a weird woman.

Does she pay People for all of this publicity??? She is known more for shilling products and attending openings, gifting suites and other celebs’ premiers than for anything meaningful that she’s done.

I’m like and he’s like and we’re like… Give me a break!

Okay, what does everyone have against Molly Sims? I don’t understand why everyone’s always so negative about her. Really, what has she done that’s so horrible?!

carole on

@Anonymous, I think it’s more a matter of What has she done that’s relevant or interesting? She’s not a an A-lister like Halle, Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, Reese, etc., etc. and the posts about her are not about her work or accomplishments. Seriously, am I missing something here? All the articles about her are made up of quotes from her about her and/or feature her attending a gifting suite or event promoting a product or someone else’s movie. Maybe she’s a good charity do-gooder, if that’s the case, then do tell…

Infantile. She speaks like a child.

She looks great at age 41.

annachestnut- You must hang around some pretty strange children, then (unless you actually meant teenagers, in which I case I have to admit you have a point!). 😉 By the way, I love your screen name!

She is very beautiful. I think she was the victim of awful editing.

IWish this annoying woman would put a pipe in it.

Ugh. Let’s tone down the makeup (hiding age with heavy handed face here) and the use of the word like. And how about doing something other than going out. Her book should be interesting.

She looks great on that dress!

I wonder if it is that easy to conceive at 40 or 41? These older mom celebrities make it look so easy. I am 38 soon to be 39 and hope to be pregnant with #2 too before the year is over!
