It’s a boy!

Ernie and Cindy Halvorsen, who ran away with the Amazing Race‘s million-dollar prize in 2011, welcomed their first child on Wednesday, Oct. 22, they confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.

Maverick Zhang Halvorsen was born at 4:25 p.m., weighing in at 6 lbs., 10 oz., and was 19½ inches long.

Baby Maverick was delivered with the help of a midwife at Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago.

“Baby Mav, the world is waiting for you,” says Ernie, 32. “Live in the along.”

Adds Cindy, 33: “We are unbelievably in love with our little guy and excited about our next amazing adventure!”

Live in the along?? I don’t get it. And what is the baby sitting in, in the wooden bowl?

Donnatex on

“Live in the Along” is from a poem.
I think it’s beautiful.

it's beautiful on

Live in the Along means just keep going. It’s from a speech.

Great on the healthy son, but I was distracted by her fake eyelashes! Ladies to note, falsies are not a good a choice!

Say to them,
say to the down-keepers,
the sun-slappers,
the self-soilers,
the harmony-hushers,
“even if you are not ready for day
it cannot always be night.”
You will be right.
For that is the hard home-run.

Live not for battles won.
Live not for the-end-of-the-song.
Live in the along.

The photos look contrived. Looks like they tried to go Geddes and missed. I really didn’t like these two in the race either….she was painfully obnoxious. Cute baby though.

Congratulations to Ernie and Cindy. I remember when they were on TAR. I 100% agree with the poster who said these photos look contrived. Why do so many couples opt for them? Take your own photos. At least that way they won’t look exactly like every other set of new baby photos out there.

Nice photo, congrats!

well, thanks for explaining it’s from a poem Chelle…… i hate when people talk as if we already know what that bleep they’re talking about..

I’d end with a poem, but i don’t like them.

Sadly all it took for me to figure out what “Live in the along” meant was to search those words and bam, automatically the poem posted by Chelle above was all over my screen. Ahh the power of google people.
Cute pictures. Beautiful family and beautiful baby.

Never heard of them but cute baby and cute name but what does “live in the along” mean? Is that like “live in the beside” or “live in the among” or “live in the almost”? Live forward makes more sense. Or simply live. It’s what babies do, until they die.

I think it means “Inhabit the now” and “Abide.”
