Joe Nichols: I’ll Do ‘Anything’ to Make My Family Happy

10/24/2014 at 01:00 PM ET

Since the birth of his 5-month-old daughter, Georgia Blue, country singer Joe Nichols is savoring each one of her adorable milestones.

“She’s growing like a weed and the changes are coming fast,” Nichols, 37, tells PEOPLE of his second daughter with wife Heather, 38. “She’s starting to giggle which is so cute and she’s getting her first little tooth on the bottom!”

Plus with his 2½-year-old daughter Dylan River already at home, the singer is loving being the only man of the house.

“I enjoy all the pink everywhere, being Heather’s husband and the daddy for the girls,” says Nichols, who also has a daughter, Ashelyn, 16, from a previous relationship. “I’ll do anything to make them happy.”

So what exactly is “anything?”

“I find real joy doing things I would never have imagined doing, like playing with princess dolls and fairies,” he says. “I’m the guy who wants to watch Bubble Guppies with Dylan and hold the baby.”

Though while he’s on tour promoting his album Crickets, life is a bit different.

“When I’m on the road, it’s a lot of cussin’ and guy stuff,” he says. “It’s a big transition.”

But with the holidays approaching, “the road is slowing down a bit,” he says. “I’m just really looking forward to spending some uninterrupted time with my family.”

For more photos of Joe Nichols and his entire family pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE, on stands Friday.

Daddy daughter pics are the best. And I love his daughters’ names!

No, PEOPLE, the pictures in your magazine are NOT of the entire family (I’m a subscriber, so I’ve seen them). Ashleyn is missing. Shame on you for not counting her as part of the family!

That being said, Georgia Blue is adorable!

BTW, before anyone jumps on me, I’m realize there are plenty of perfectly good possible reasons as to why Ashelyn wasn’t in the photoshoot. I’m simply saying that PEOPLE should not say that Joe’s entire family is in the pictures in the magazine when it isn’t!

@Anynomous: Don’t you ever get tired of hearing yourself rambling? You eagerly reply/critique/justify everyone’s comments, the article and apparently your own comments as well. It’s the same thing on seemingly every single post. Good Lord.

Continue your sobriety, Joe. You’ve got a beautiful family & your music has never sounded better. 🙂

is that thing stapled to her head? Glued? Is there a bolt holding it in place? Why would you do that to your child? And why is the house drenched in pink? Genitals don’t care about color, babies just want to be comfortable! I’ve never heard of him, but he is handsome in this photo. And when you hold your child, do those chains around your neck smack her in the nose? What’s that thing on your wrist?

Free the children!!!!

Will you please was and groom your hair before grease drops in your child’s face. Thanks!

Not familiar with this guy, but it’s always nice to see a father dote on his daughters.

Now why in the world did People feel the need to put the word anything in parentheses, It wasn’t like he was willing to rob banks for heaven’s sake.
